If you’re OK with playing an executive course this is the best value in town and in the best condition of any of the other courses like it. Friendly staff and you can easily finish in 3 1/2 hours tops.
Great value
Course is managed well with friendly staff. Greens in very good shape. Fees are a great value and we love this course.
First time at the course
Open fairways and not a lot of water, so great place to practice your irons without the risk of losing a lot of balls considering it’s a shorter course (executive course). Tee boxes are torn up a bit but I could still find a patch of grass to tee off from. Fairway grass was in good shape, grass on and around greens were very nice. Course reminds me of courses from Michigan.
Better than Minnesota in February
This is a no frills course with mostly par 3 holes, some par 4. The longes hole from what I recall is 277 yards. The tee boxes needed some love but not the worst I've ever seen but the greens were very well maintained. I don't know if this course has a course marshal on staff butI'm assuming that since we had a late afternoon (3:30) tee time he/she was gone for the day. The result for us ( a 2some) was the play moved at a glacial pace (2:45 hours) to make it to the 9th hole. We were finally able to bypass the 4some ahead of us to begin the back 9 before it was too dark to continue. The impending darkness closed us out at the 12th hole. To further our dismay, the clubhouse/bar was closed by the time we got off the course (about 6pm).
Overall, it was a good experience and now knowing what to expect, I would golf at Whiskey Creek again.
Good Course, Friendly Staff
My wife and I reserved a tee time to play 9. Pave was good, finished in 1 1/4 hours. Decided to play 18 and we were comped the second 9. Finished in 3 hours. Nice layout, a little rough around the edges but the greens were consistent. Overall a fun experience.
