Scenic Hills Country Club
About
Unlike many other courses in the state, Scenic Hills Country Club sprawls across a scenic landscape of rolling hills. In addition to the dramatic elevation changes throughout the course, the holes are sharply framed by towering pines that line the fairways. The holes play to generous putting surfaces that provide a variety of hole placements, but its best to play to the middle of the greens since there are strategically placed bunkers guarding all of the greens. Water hazards also come into play on six holes, but they require only minimal forced carries. Scenic Hills C.C. opens with what is arguably its most challenging holes. The par-4 hole plays downhill to a green that is not only protected on both the left and right with bunkers, but there is also a steep-faced bunker that is not visible from the fairway.

Was shocked
For all the damage the course sustained from hurricane sally, it’s come back and come back strong. There is a new course superintendent and he and his crew are doing an amazing job! Absolutely recommend!
Fun course
Jerry Pate design in a hilly area of North Pensacola. Different from many flat Florida courses. Very little water and greens were well kept and fast. Worth playing if in area.
It’s coming together nicely
I was told there is a new superintendent at scenic hills
So I came to check it out, now mind you they just arified the greens and got a TON of rain. The greens were slow (due to conditions) but smooth. If there hadn’t been rain this place would have been a knockout, better then some of the courses in neighboring alabama at their best. Keep up the care you are giving the course and she will sparkle! It’s worth the 45 min drive and I will BE BACK!
Sad
Tee Boxes are the worst and it doesn't get that much better after that. But, if you bump the ball everywhere you MIGHT be able to come up with a decent lie. Maybe 1/4th of the greens are good, some okay and a few not good. Best Clubhouse in Pensacola, great bar, great food, nice pro shop.
Excellent Facility, Not Course
I really wish this course was in better shape so it could match the wonderful amenities of a lovely clubhouse, fabulous bar and fabulous restaurant. But, the course is not good especially for July and especially with all the nice rain we've had to help the Supt get it in order. Fairways are way too thin, greens have lots of crab grass on them. Bunkers have no sand, only dirt and are hard as concrete. Tee boxes are ugly, carts are not in good shape but they do look good. I had to listen to my loud screeching brakes for 18 holes. I would love to be a member here but not to play this track. sorry
Enjoyable
Great course, heck of a Staff. They always make you feel welcome and treat you like your a Pro.
Better than before
I’ve avoided playing Scenic Hills because it was always wet even days after a rain. Today it was much drier. The course is in fair condition, no PGA quality, but fair enough. The course has a more challenging layout than most other courses nearby, so be prepared to use all your clubs.
Promotion Tuesday
The pace of play was on the slow side, but that should be expected for the promotional rate offered on Tuesdays. Dead areas on most of the greens, but they weren't to the point of interfering with most of the putting. The greens rolled well with good speed. The fairways are quite dry and firm, offering tight lies and good roll out. Some of the bunkers were washed and all were hard sand. My continuing complaint regarding Scenic Hills is the poor condition of the sand bunkers. The course is worth the $30 Tuesday promotional rate, but I don't think it's worth much more than that.
Good
A good course with tough layout. The greens are in good condition. A little slow but well cared. First time playing but it was worth the experience. Bad group in front ignorant of etiquette or pace of play but otherwise a good course
Great round
Kind of a slow day at the course but there was a hour of 15 on the tee at the time we were to tee off.
The starter sent us off the back 2st.
We played 28 in 2 1/2 hrs.
Thank you!
Course has a nice layout, pretty good greens and fairways.
Fun day!
Interesting layout
Believe once was a great course, but in need of resources. Greens need some TLC and yardage markers are hard to find on many of the holes.
Nice everything
Course, people, layout, management there of, facility-
All great. Will be back.
Older course with challenging holes
The course has obviously seen better days but it retains the charm of a private course built in a housing development. Greens were inconsistent and fairways had good turf even for January. For a shorter hitter the whites are too long at +6,000 yards, but the senior tee locations are way too short and mostly paired up with the most forward tees. Lots of challenges with right angle fairways and places to get into trouble.
