Scenic Hills Country Club
About
Unlike many other courses in the state, Scenic Hills Country Club sprawls across a scenic landscape of rolling hills. In addition to the dramatic elevation changes throughout the course, the holes are sharply framed by towering pines that line the fairways. The holes play to generous putting surfaces that provide a variety of hole placements, but its best to play to the middle of the greens since there are strategically placed bunkers guarding all of the greens. Water hazards also come into play on six holes, but they require only minimal forced carries. Scenic Hills C.C. opens with what is arguably its most challenging holes. The par-4 hole plays downhill to a green that is not only protected on both the left and right with bunkers, but there is also a steep-faced bunker that is not visible from the fairway.

Good course for the money
Played while on vacation. Course conditions were ok for the time of year, although the fairways had been aerated so quite a few plugs were laying about. The holes were nicely laid out, interesting and challenging but not over the top hard to play. Pace of play was ok. This is one of those courses that would be more enjoyable after playing a few times as there are lots of sloping fairways and greens. And be aware there is no restroom on the front nine!
Course is shaping up
Greens on the back nine were about the best I've seen in this area, given the spring conditions. Bermuda on the fairways has not yet taken off here.
pretty nice course,wide fairways
Enjoyed playing this course for the first time. The greens were extra fast and 3 putted numerous times.. The worst part of the day were three different singles we let through, then two twosomes and finally another twosome that jumped in front of us without asking or us seeing them behind us. They shouted at us as they drove by and these men were in their 70's. I have been playing 38 years and have never seen anything like this on any golf course I have ever played. Our group was a foursome with two men and two women and we have been playing all the area courses all winter. I hope the club pro reads this review and corrects this problems!
Nice course for money
Nice course. Open, but tricky on some holes. Enjoyed the round. Will go back
Fun day
Long course but not overwhelming. Overall good condition for this time of yr. Enjoyed the round and will play again
A little wet and muddy, but ...
A little wet and muddy, but it was in very good condition. Somewhat crowded. Pace was slow at times, and pace was faster at times..
Winter conditions
Given that it's winter and the grass is dormant, and that we've had considerable rain, the course was in pretty good shape. Greens are smooth.
Long
M husband and I got a great price on this course. It’s January so the fairways were a little rough but greens were very nice. Wish you had a forward tee station for ladies. I’m 65 and it was long for me. Other than that we enjoyed our round.
First few holes of course layout confusing, especially holes 2 & 3
Pace of play was excellent until hole 14. I caught up to a fivesome (on a Wednesday morning) and I waited on next 3 holes- they averaged more than 20 minutes per hole. I finally had to skip a hole to finish my round. A Marshall was working the course, but apparently fivesomes are permitted ??
Course Does not honor Golf Now Confirmed tee times
8:00 tee time through Golf Now but starter/desk person wanted us to move to another time. Looks like the locals bumped us from our confirmed time. Course manager/pro stood right there and ignored the whole situation. No way to run a course. No apology... nothing. No wonder no one plays there and the course reputation stinks.
Course was in poor condition. Will never play Scenic again.
Fast greens, slow play.
The greens were very fast but true rolling. The fairways were tight and some areas were too wet and soft.
Tuesday mornings is lady's day and unfortunately, we were unable to get off early due to the cold temps. Consequently, the pace was very slow. We spent about 4.5 hrs for 3 men in 2 carts. Far too slow for my taste.
Only negative is lack of bathroom facilities on the course. No facilities other than clubhouse. Not acceptable .
Fast Track
I got out at 6:30AM and completed 18 holes in 2:30. The greens were in good condition as were the fairways. The tee boxed were being cut, so some were longer than others. Over-all a good experience. I will definitely play here again. Staff was friendly.
They Don't Call It Scenic Hills for Nothing
Rolling course, hillier than one would expect. Some carries on tee shots but nothing really hard, at least not from the whites. Greens were brown, not too pretty, but actually rolled quite nicely and were the best I played on my little winter trip. Pace of play was fine until the last few holes when a couple of really slow groups clogged up play. This course has a bit of strategic variety off the tee as well.
