Scenic Hills Country Club
About
Unlike many other courses in the state, Scenic Hills Country Club sprawls across a scenic landscape of rolling hills. In addition to the dramatic elevation changes throughout the course, the holes are sharply framed by towering pines that line the fairways. The holes play to generous putting surfaces that provide a variety of hole placements, but its best to play to the middle of the greens since there are strategically placed bunkers guarding all of the greens. Water hazards also come into play on six holes, but they require only minimal forced carries. Scenic Hills C.C. opens with what is arguably its most challenging holes. The par-4 hole plays downhill to a green that is not only protected on both the left and right with bunkers, but there is also a steep-faced bunker that is not visible from the fairway.

First few holes of course layout confusing, especially holes 2 & 3
Pace of play was excellent until hole 14. I caught up to a fivesome (on a Wednesday morning) and I waited on next 3 holes- they averaged more than 20 minutes per hole. I finally had to skip a hole to finish my round. A Marshall was working the course, but apparently fivesomes are permitted ??
Course Does not honor Golf Now Confirmed tee times
8:00 tee time through Golf Now but starter/desk person wanted us to move to another time. Looks like the locals bumped us from our confirmed time. Course manager/pro stood right there and ignored the whole situation. No way to run a course. No apology... nothing. No wonder no one plays there and the course reputation stinks.
Course was in poor condition. Will never play Scenic again.
Fast greens, slow play.
The greens were very fast but true rolling. The fairways were tight and some areas were too wet and soft.
Tuesday mornings is lady's day and unfortunately, we were unable to get off early due to the cold temps. Consequently, the pace was very slow. We spent about 4.5 hrs for 3 men in 2 carts. Far too slow for my taste.
Only negative is lack of bathroom facilities on the course. No facilities other than clubhouse. Not acceptable .
Fast Track
I got out at 6:30AM and completed 18 holes in 2:30. The greens were in good condition as were the fairways. The tee boxed were being cut, so some were longer than others. Over-all a good experience. I will definitely play here again. Staff was friendly.
They Don't Call It Scenic Hills for Nothing
Rolling course, hillier than one would expect. Some carries on tee shots but nothing really hard, at least not from the whites. Greens were brown, not too pretty, but actually rolled quite nicely and were the best I played on my little winter trip. Pace of play was fine until the last few holes when a couple of really slow groups clogged up play. This course has a bit of strategic variety off the tee as well.
Good playday
Staff was friendly. Course was open, teed off at 1015 instead of scheduled 1137. Greens were inconsistent in speed, a few had a lot of sand on them. I'll play again, especially at the discount rate.
great condition
The course was in great condition had no problems at all. Will be going back soon.
Beautiful course
I have played this course before but have never seen it this good condition. I have spent more and gotten less many times. Good layout as well
Golf with friends
Beautiful course in excellent condition. Staff and facilities were wonderful! We will play here again!
Very nice course
The Tee boxes, fairway's and green's were in great shape! The only disappointing part was making the turn and stopping to pick up some beverages (beer and water), they did not have a cooler but, provided a trash bag with ice, all the drinks were room temperature. That will not stop me from playing this course again.
Good course but it was a rainy day
The fairways were a little tight but the greens were great. It was a rainy day so you couldn't experience the course at its fullest beauty. I will come back and give it another shot on a much better day.
Great local course
Reading up on courses I thought I was getting into an executive course. I was disappointed at my first feel but was happy by the end my game. Went back and took the family and we all were able to enjoy.
Nice Course
Great price, tough putting greens.
Beverage cart available all the time.
Need new tee boxes for the ladies.
Best Value and Course In Pensacola
Wow..! Terrific design and conditions. Played 1969 US Women's Open here and course deserves another. Great layout, outstanding condition of fairways and greens ... a must play. Go on GOLFNOW.COM and get yourself a discounted rate wit the cart. Played for $26 + tax ......
Overall good experience
Enjoyed playing at Scenic Hills. The course was in good shape except for #13 ,which was being rebuilt. Took some friends from Kentucky and they really enjoyed the course. We will play there again.
Nice course but somewhat hilly and tight
Scenic Hills is a very nice course but somewhat hilly and very tight with regard to all the houses situated very close to the course. If you hit it straight, no problem. If you are like me and sometimes a little wild off the tee, then there are a lot of houses that come into play. Other than that, great course and very nice folks running it.
Ok course
Ok forthe money. One hole had a temporary green. Pace of play was a little slow.
Pleasant golf
For January the green are quick, which is praise as most we have played are on the slow side. Interesting course, with enough elevation change to make it interesting.
