About
Unlike many other courses in the state, Scenic Hills Country Club sprawls across a scenic landscape of rolling hills. In addition to the dramatic elevation changes throughout the course, the holes are sharply framed by towering pines that line the fairways. The holes play to generous putting surfaces that provide a variety of hole placements, but its best to play to the middle of the greens since there are strategically placed bunkers guarding all of the greens. Water hazards also come into play on six holes, but they require only minimal forced carries. Scenic Hills C.C. opens with what is arguably its most challenging holes. The par-4 hole plays downhill to a green that is not only protected on both the left and right with bunkers, but there is also a steep-faced bunker that is not visible from the fairway.

Scenic Hills Golf Course
Great place to play and has friendly staff. The weather was perfect.
Poor condition
This a fantastic layout by Jerry Pate, that has unfortunately fallen into poor condition. It’s in need of a total overhaul. Probably needs new investment and converted into lesser holes. The clubhouse is nice but the course keeps getting noticeably worse every 6 mos.
You get what you pay for
This is one of the cheaper courses in the area, and it definitely does need some work. That being said, it is one of the cheaper courses in the area.. so you make the trade off. While I wouldn’t recommend this course for amazing players that require consistent greens, I would recommend it if you just wanted to get out there and play.
Course needs work
Greens and tee boxes need some attention. Greens have bare spots and most tee boxes have little to no grass and we’re hard enough that it was a struggle getting tee in. I like the layout of this course, not really any difficult holes and not much water. I last play Scenic in 2009 and this course is not in as good a shape today. Very nice clubhouse but I don’t go to golf courses for the clubhouse amenities.
For the price it was good. It just took way to long to play. Everyone was very nice though. It usually cost 60.00 to play which is way to much
Course condition
Wok in progress, several greens lost to heat, fair ways have several work projects doing on. Too expensive for the conditions
Not worth it
Course is having major problem with the upkeep. Most holes are filled n horrible condition as are most greens. I have played here for 25 years and after yesterday not sure I will be back unless there are significant improvements.
Disappointed
Poor conditions, one hole was like putting out of bounds. We saw better Tee boxes than the putting greens on one of the front 9 holes. We will not go back for awhile!
Avoid this course
I’ve lived and played in Pensacola since 2007…Scenic Hills is an over priced, run down, sad excuse for a golf course. Over 80% of the greens are dead and more black than a piece of coal, entire course has vegetation infestation, temporary greens…I can go on and on and on…If it wasn’t for the discounted Hot Deal from GolfNow I would never step foot on this course again. Do better Scenic Hills!
Misleading Photos/Course not up to expectations
3 or 4 holes under construction. Crabgrass and carpet grass all over the fairways, teeboxes and around the greens. Not a good time. Highly recommend choosing a better place to play.
