Fun Time!!
Had a blast. Course is in the best shape it’s been in for a long time. Great value.
Nice coarse
Everything was nice and green, the greens were really slow needed a cut or rolling.. staff was very welcoming and we had a great time. Will defiantly be back soon.
Worth seeking out
Well-maintained course with friendly staff, though it has been under-staffed both times I’ve come here. Very good playing conditions with tee boxes, greens and fairways as good as you’ll find anywhere.
It’s a good course to play aggressively on; several short par-4s, manageable par-5s and nary a bunker in sight. Clubhouse was plain, no-frills affair but it did have cold beer, a tv, chairs and and snacks.
Low fees make it worth the effort to find.
in great shape
the course is in the best shape i have ever seen it, and getting better. thanks goes to the staff, they have done a lot of work to get it to this point.
Course
The course was far better than I have ever seen it before and I have played it many times. I was impressed, the general mgr and his crew have done a great job.
The newly improved Orgill Park GC!
Wow! This course has made incredible improvements since Eric Howard has taken over the course. The golf course, clubhouse, snack bar, pro-shop, restrooms, everything has been improved. Even more noticeable change is the outstanding service and hospitality of the employee staff.
We held a tournament at Orgill on this visit. Eric and his staff exceeded all our expectations in hosting our tournament. Orgill just got new golf carts the day before our tournament and we were the first to drive them!
Eric has been there less than a year and he and his staff have turned this course around. I can't wait to see what improvements and enhancements to Orgill will be made in the coming years.
If you haven't been to Orgill lately, you need to go see for yourself what an improvement this course has achieved!
Trying, but still not close
Right off the bat it needs to be mentioned that this is a County Municipal funded course. That in itself creates Improvement problems.
This course screams "fund me". But a near bankrupt County Government does not see a golf course as a priority in tax dollars.
I rated this course low for the following reasons.
1. Greens were VERY slow, & rotted with disease with lots of bare areas. Even old pin/cup holes were not filled in correctly.
1. Because it has zero bunkers I cannot give it a good layout rating. A golf course with no bunkers is just not a golf course to me. I can only assume this is part of budget cutbacks also.
2. Practice facilities are very poor and limited.
3. Pro Shop is almost non-existent. A few dozen golf balls was literally all they had.
On the good side,
1. Fairways are surprisingly very nice.
2. Course has a outstanding layout in terms of Fairways, dog legs Etc. A couple of very challenging par threes we're good to see.
3. Staff could not have been nicer.
In conclusion I can recommend this course but only after Miramichi and Glen Eagle in that order. If the County would put money into this course it could be a Jem.
Great cousre
A new and improved Course. They are really trying hard to make improvements. Can't wait to play it again.
A work in progress
It's been 5yrs since we played Orgill. Heard that our friend Eric Howard had taken the GM position and decided to see him and play the course. The fairways were as good as anywhere, with only a few spots under repair. The rough was brutal, but not impossible. The greens had recently been aerated so they were sandy. Can't wait to play the course later this year after the greens come back. We got hamburgers after the round. They were cooked to perfection, better than the back yard burgers from a day before. The cosmetic changes outside and inside have really improved the look. As expected, we were greeted by Eric. Complimented him on the charges and he assures us that more changes are on the books. The new golf carts were a nice surprise! The range was still small, but with limited space, it was expected. It would be nice if there were a few ball washers on the course, The yardage book was an added bonus!. Not having played here for so long, I had forgotten some of the holes. Diagrams on the hole signs would be nice but since we had the yardage book...not needed Overall, we think Eric and his staff have done a great job in the short time he has been there. Look forward to playing more rounds there in the future!
Great Shape
Orgill is in best shape its been in several years ... greens are consistent, fairways lush and rough is manageable for the most part. clubhouse area has been spruced, too. it's always been a scenic tract with Casper Lake but it's even more enjoyable with the course in top-notch condition.
the potential for this course is pretty much unlimited. would love to see bigger budget to enable them to put in some fairway and greenside sand bunkers. a few ponds/water hazards would enhance the tract as well.
Much Improved!
Orgill is back! Course is much improved. Staff was very friendly. Had a great time, will come back.
this course is under new management.. they have improved this course 100% from what it was last year. If you haven't played ''tis course this year come and play a round the course will will surprise you . It is well maintained. Greens have grass and fairways are in good shape. Good job to the superintendent and staff.
HARD WORK PAID OFF...
BEST SHAPE IVE EVER SEEN IT. HAD A GREAT ROUND CAN NOT WAIT TO GET BACK
Nice Day
I hadn't played the course in a couple of years. Much improvement has been made. Greens still need a little bit of work, but course was in great shape.
