great recovery from some green difficulties
course in as good shape as I have seen in four years. Greens are fabulous now and sand/fairways/rough all well maintained.
Friendly staff and nice mixture of difficulty and scenery. Well worth the price.
Poor customer service
The course needs to have more food ready for the players. I was told I could not have a hamburger loaded because it would slow down play. "WHAT" In addition they had no hot dogs ready and only one ham and cheese sandwich, we were told it would take 10 minutes to have the hot dogs ready. This is not what I would call customer service. The group of men in front of us live at Indian Hills and they told us this is normal for this place. We drove from Mt. Juliet and I can tell you Pine Creek & Windtree always have plenty of food and I can have a loaded hamburger anytime I ask. You may want to call these courses and see how they provide quality customer service.
Fun Day
We took our daughter for her first round and it was a great course for all of us.
Great course to golf with friends
This course was well worth the money, and the perfect course to spend the afternoon on with your buddies. Challenging holes, but the course doesn't eat you alive...makes you think, but gives you a chance for some good shots.
The greens are in good shape.
Several fairway sand bunkers are being converted to grass pot bunkers.
Well-maintained course and great value.
The golf course staff was one of the friendliest I had ever encountered. The pace of play was outstanding. The greens were smooth, an excellent pace, and true. I enjoyed the course because you could take chances, however, ob's and water could be found throughout. It definitely pays to keep it in the fairway on this course. There were lots of birdie holes, but also lots of double bogeys holes for this reason. We will definitely be playing here again. Fun golf course and Mother's Day experience.
Great playing,highly recommend.
Took longer that usual, due to wet weather/some water standing due to all rain we had over weekend.Great deal at great price.Highly recommend
Great Layout -- Great Course
Challenging Course
Greens where all ruined last year and most of them had 50% re-soded over summer and some 100% --- with that said the greens are rolling pretty good considering the damage they took-- the grounds crew has done a tremendous job of getting them back into shape -- i would say by june - july we could see some quick greens of the past at indian hills.
Fairways and Rough not bad but not great --- decent conditions -- especially for the low price rates on golf now --
Fun Course-- Pretty Layout and worth the time
Older course, well maintained
This an older course but is in good shape. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The course has some challenging holes but is not too difficult.
The course layout is good.
The greens are not in great shape right now. Indian Hills is one of my favorite lay-outs with many risk/reward holes.
good course for the money
First time playing since the heat killed the greens last summer and the course is 200% better and on its way back to being a really nice course. Love the layout
Nice course to play
We had a group of three and played pretty fast considering there was a shotgun start of about 30 that showed up to play. We were allowed to play ahead of them which made it a good experience. I would recommend this course to anyone of any handicap.
wait till summer for the greens to get back in shape
Course needs some work done bad. Granted it is early in the season but this course has gone downhill over the past couple years
great layout
Enjoyed the course very much. Good layout. Greens had been aerated but were healing well. They will putt really well when they heal. Definitely a course to play if you are in the area.
In my opinion, this course has a lot to offer.
This was the first course I played since moving to Tennessee. The only negative would be the time of year, and that is no fault of the course. In fact, considering that fact, the course played extremely well. They had aerated the greens about 2 weeks prior so they were a little jumpy, but nothing that we couldn't deal with. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We found a Hot Deal, so the value was tremendous ($19.00 each). I believe the value would still be excellent at the regular rate ($25.00 - $35.00 on Golfnow), especially in the peak season when everything is plush. The layout was very nice. There were holes that you could let it out, and some that put a premium on shot placement. There are some holes that have houses on them, and others that run parallel to the road, but nothing that really mess with you too much because most of the fairways are pretty generous.
All said and done, I give the course high ratings and will both play there again and recommend it highly to people who want to know where to play.
LOCAL ATMOSPHERE
I did not know there was a restaurant/lounge until I was done and ready to leave and then found it by accident. The service in there left a lot to be desired. Seems to cater to regulars and as a stranger there did not feel particularly welcome. Early in the season but did not appear the grass would be much thicker or fairways and aprons less hard packed in season.
Lots of good holes
A nice course with a good variety of holes. Par 3's particularly good. The greens are in rough shape but are on the mend. They actually putt much better than they appear. They should rebound once the growing season arrives. Great price on Golf Now.
1st time out
Had a good time at the course.
A little delay with pace of play but the staff was more than willing to accommodate myself and my playing partner.
Will be back !!!
The course has a lot of variety of holes
I really enjoy Indian Hills every time I play there. It has a lot of different variety of holes. Long par 3s and short par 3s, long par 4s and short. Elevated greens, water hazards, two reachable par 5s on the front and hole 10 but a nice long wide open par 5 (the 17th). Most of the bunkers are in really good shape with good sand. They evidently had some challenges with their greens last year but appear to be making a good comeback. The ball rolls pretty good on the greens right now probably about a 10 or 11. This course has good prices and the guys in the pro shop were nice. I recommend and I will be back soon.
The Staff is friendly and the course is challenging.
Indian Hills suffered some damage to their greens last year but have made great strides in recovering them. The friendliness of the staff and efforts to make your experience at the golf course memorable is exceptional.
