Nashboro Golf Club sits just outside of Nashville's city center, and offers good times and good tests.

Nashboro Golf Club is home to a classically designed par-72 championship golf course that measures 6,887 yards; manicured Bermuda fairways give way to premium bentgrass greens. Grass aficionados will also be happy to know that the fairways and roughs both get plenty of rye grass seeds during the winter, allowing for ideal playing conditions year-round. All levels of golfer can get into the course's beauty - the fairways are lined with both mature trees and great vistas - and the strategically-placed water hazards and bunkers will also challenge seasoned golfers and novice golfers alike.

After - or before or both - a round of golf at Nashboro Golf Club, grab a round in the clubhouse's full-service bar and grill, which offers a casual vibe.

Happy

Course is in decent shape. I love the new greens. They're firm which is a great advantage in that spike and ball marks are not an issue as with softer bent grass greens. Of course a bermuda hybrid won't roll as smooth as a bent grass green but the trade off is worth it as most bent grass greens in the area become pocked and scuffed from play. I also enjoyed seeing the course foxes which are obviously half tame from people feeding them. Nice to see them, but probably not a great situation as they would be better off left alone.

Greens

Greens were heavily sanded and very hard. Pace of play was good, but it was a football Sunday with fewer players on the course.

Brutal

Only had time for 2 rounds during my recent trip to Nashville... Used Google and golfnow ratings to book Hermitage Presidential (great course, highly recommended) and Golfadvisor ratings to book Nashboro. Well, I won't ever rely on golfadvisor again. This course is beat. Fairways were rock solid, brown and bare. Rough was sparce and mostly dirt. Greens, don't get me started. We left after 13 holes, both of is agreed it was the worst course we ever played. Waste of $ but most of all a waste of time.

Rock hard greens

Overall a pretty good course from the tips! Fairways are in pretty good shape. The greens are extremely hard and pretty fast. I hit my ball pretty high and was hardly leaving a divot... The ball doesn't check very well, even with a good amount of spin which can be frustrating. You gotta know how to play your shoots on this course!! I do enjoy playing this course!!

Good, fun course.

Course was fun and a very good challenge. Very tight fairways required a good amount of strategy to have a good score on each hole. Greens need to be in better shape but I'm sure that is due to the recent weather and heat. Assume it would be in much better condition in the spring and fall. It would also be nice to have more markers on the course. Generally only had 150 stakes on each hole and painted lines on the cart path for 200 and 100 yards.

Same old Nasboro

I booked a red hot deal thinking that I would give Nashboro one more chance… Same old problems continue to plague this course from tee box to green. Greens are in overall poor condition, fairways are bare or at best 3 different types of grass, and I feel like all the tee boxes were sand pits. I will not be going back to Nashboro no matter what the price. There are plenty of good courses in the Nashville area so save yourself a trip.

Great Golf Course

The course was very busy but the pace of play was not a problem. Peggy, on the beverage cart, was very friendly as were all the other employees that we encountered. NICE COURSE at a fair price.

The real story

The course sold to a local businessman. All of the greens were rebuilt and converted to Mini-Verde.
It is the best value in Middle Tennessee.

Poor

Un-welcoming staff. Not nice enough course to be as expensive as most courses at some times of day and more expensive than nice courses at other times of day. Full price rounds for aerated, sand covered greens and a lawn mower always in front of you. Dead patchy fairways

Top dressing greens is a regular maintenance practice with Mini Verde greens. This past winter was extremely hard on all Bermuda grass courses. We are 90% grown back in. Our crew is working very hard at addressing these areas.

It's average course. Green is fast and nice. However, fairway condition has a lot of brown soil. Hope they work on it.

Hardest course in Nashville

Very challenging course! I would put this course in the top 3 most difficult courses in Nashville. On almost every there is a dog leg left or right with water and bunkers. It's nice to know there is a challenging course in Nashville. I absolutely enjoyed it and will be back.

Poor conditions! Terrible Management!

Course was in terrible shape. Greens and fairways were hard as concrete. Also the pace of play was pathetic. Took almost 6 hours to play 18. Mainly due to the fact they don't have Marshalls monitoring pace of play. We had a foursome in front of us that would not let us play through so we skipped them and played a hole in front of them. They called the owner who came out and got on to us and would not listen to our complaints about them. We were offered to leave or get back behind the group we played through. Needless to say I will not be back. They should learn to manage a course better.

Yes. We were offered to play a few extra holes or a rain check. However, when we were not slowing pace of play for the group we skipped (because they were drunk and pathetically slow, not to mention wouldn't let a twosome play through) it shouldn't have been an issue. Yes, it is not proper golf etiquette to skip a group without permission, it is also not golf etiquette to continuously hold up multiple groups behind you. With all of that being said it is managements job to monitor pace of play on a busy day. Any half decent course would have a marshal riding around checking groups for that reason. Now to address the course conditions, we did have an extreme winter and yes it does have an affect on the course, however I could list a dozen other courses around the middle TN area that are in immaculate condition. Those same courses went through the same harsh conditions as Nashboro Village did.

Bottom line is this course has/had a lot of potential. Until management steps up and gets a handle on the maintenance of the greens and pace of play I personally will not be back. I will leave it up to others on whether they decide to play here.

I came out with the owner to talk with this group. He offered them a 9 hole rain check or offered them to play a few extra holes. What you can not do is jump in front of a group.

The winter was hard on a lot of course in middle Tennessee this year. We are doing everything in our power to bring the course up to our standards.

Maybe I was there on a bad day, but I'll never be back to find out

Rather than an emotional rant I’d like to briefly summarize my first (and last) experience at Nasboro.
• Our tee time was delayed by more than 30 minutes. In 4 hours of playing we only completed 12 holes. I gave up! We were pacing a 6 hour round??? That doesn’t include the 30 minutes I waited for our scheduled tee time
• Pace of play is unchecked, except for some signs reminding you how behind your are… Ohhh BTW the beer cart lady is also the marshal???
• There were not enough carts; we were not given a cart until less than 10 minutes before our tee time. The cart that I was given had issues and backfiring regularly.
• The driving range is very disappointing. Mats only without any rubber tees
• Every ball washers I tried (4) were either broken, without water or without a drying towel
• Several of the trash cans were overflowing with garbage
Reading the other reviews I can see why others complain about
• the pro shop staff… reasonable- they were not rude, but I could see arrogance
• Condition of the greens…no need for a ball mark repair tool. You can’t even dent these green with a hot long iron.
Unfortunately, anything positive about Nashboro is overshadowed by what appears to be a revenue goal. They invite more golfers than the course or infrastructure can support.

could be better

The greens were tough as always but the fairways were horrible. At times would be in the middle of the fairway hitting of hard packed dirt.

Staff stalk you

There was a group of 6, 2 groups in front of us. After a few holes the pace started slowing down. We were almost done with the first 9 when the beverage lady came around She said that our group ended up getting behind just a little and was very nice about it. So we picked up the pace and ended up right behind the next group on the next hole and the group behind us was no where in sight. We were maintaining that pace when this guy on staff started hovering over us, following us down the hole. Then he came over and said we needed to speed up because there was whole hole open. We looked over there and there was still group on next hole. The guy continued to follow us around all the way until the 18th hole. I don't appreciate his attitude and stalking us through the last 5 holes. It was completely unnecessary since we were in fact NOT behind at all. I will not be returning to this. We paid money just like everybody else and did not deserve to be treated this way.

Sorry that you had a poor experience at Nashboro. We do try and keep every group under 4.5 hours and the marshals are a huge part. If they determine that a group is behind our set pace of play they will as you to speed up.
