One of the Houston area's newest courses, Cypress Lakes Golf Club was designed by Jim Fazio, who carved the course out of the thick pine trees and used a significant number of lakes and bunkers to spice up this mounded track. Four sets of tees provide options ranging from 5,351 yards to 7,024 yards at the tips. In addition to the layout, the experience at Cypress Lakes is enhanced by the impressive driving range, which is complete with target greens guarded by bunkers -- an unusual look for a basic driving range.

Bad Deal
We paid in advance for a "hot deal" at Cypress Lakes. To our surprise upon arrival, we found out that the course was permanently closing in 2 days and the maintenance of the course had been terminated. Undoubtedly, I would have made other arrangements had I known the course was on its last legs. There was no warning when I reserved and paid on Golf Now, so needless to say I am disappointed. I hope in the future such an occurrence does not happen.
Gonna miss her
Can’t fathom why they closing her down for 300 houses???
Makes no sense!!!
Classic course , she will be missed!!!
Closing July 8,2025 and it shows.
Course has been sold to housing developers I was told in clubhouse.
Greens were sone of the best in Houston. Now the course conditions are deteriorating. Sad to see it close. Save your money and play Blackhorse on a “ Hot Deal”. RIP. Cypress LakesGC.
Course closing in july
Limited cart availability which meant starting after my tee time. Cart made it to 8 fairway before dying. Walked rest of front and called it a day.
Best that can be expected
So I went to play Cypress Springs on 6-10-2026. I have played it many times and this time I took my son. I did not have high expectations since they sold the course and are closing at the end of June. Nonetheless, I had a great time playing with my son. I like the layout, but not the lakes! I am glad we played and had a little bonding time together, so even though they are not putting any maintenance into the course, it was still a great time.
Sad to see it go
Course has been sold to home developers. Last day is July 8th 2025. Greens were still good but over growth in rough and on some fairways is beginning to take over. I doubt the are mowing any more. Used to have the best greens in Houston. SS to see it go.
Classic Cypress Course
Lakes has always been a great spot to get a round in…
Been playing here for 20 + years in the heat of summer to coldest winters… lakes has been my geaux to practice spot for the last 10 years helping me perfect my game…
Awesome golf course to have in the cypress area!!!
Course is in good condition
In spite of 1 1/2” of rain course remained in good condition
Great course
Hard to complain about a beautiful course and day on the green
Famous greens are back
We played after a heavy storm the day before, even though there were some wet areas as expected, it had drained quite well. What I enjoyed though, was the greens. Cypress Lakes was known for having the best greens in Houston for years, but over the years declined. Now they rolled fast and true, even after the storm. Now there are some still needing a little help, but overall, loved the way they were rolling. Play the first 5 holes safe and conserveted , bogey golf and you will score well the rest of the way.
Great conditions
Found the course in great condition. Very well maintained. Course was very busy. Pace was a little slow cause of different levels of skill? Staff was as pleasant and with good customer service.
They Couldn't Return my GPS Speaker
Course is great and in good shape. However played there and forgot my Blue Tees GPS speaker that has a magnet to allow you to attach it to the cart. In any other course, the cart attenders would be kind to return it to the pro-shop, but not here!! They took off with it!!
Nice Course
Nice Course for the money. Fairways and greens are in good shape. Sand Traps could use a little TLC. Overall challenging and fun to play. Pace of play is decent but not fast.
Course has a nice layout and greens were in good shape
90% of the bunkers were unplayable, there was unnecessary debris that hampered the better shape of the course.
