One of the Houston area's newest courses, Cypress Lakes Golf Club was designed by Jim Fazio, who carved the course out of the thick pine trees and used a significant number of lakes and bunkers to spice up this mounded track. Four sets of tees provide options ranging from 5,351 yards to 7,024 yards at the tips. In addition to the layout, the experience at Cypress Lakes is enhanced by the impressive driving range, which is complete with target greens guarded by bunkers -- an unusual look for a basic driving range.

Ooof
Nice layout but the course is in embarrassing condition. Bunkers are unplayable, weeds everywhere.
In great shape!
Greens and fairways 👍👍. We had a great time and will definitely be back.
Course in good shape
Fairways and greens were in good shape and the pace of play was good. Weather perfect so a good day.
CARTS
My cart died after 12 holes. Club house responded quickly with a replacement however
Carts all look like they need to be retired.
Other than that, course is in decent shape. Greens roll pretty true. Bunkers are a hit thin on sand, as is the case at most public courses these days.
Good/needs work
Front 9 in good conditions except some greens infested with non-green grass. Back nine needs help. Tee boxes were overgrown and the greens had more non-green spp grass. This is a great course but it needs help,
Going downhill
I have to assume the rumors are true...the place is closing soon. They used to have the best greens around, but it looks like they gave up. The greens are bad. The bunkers are bad. The fairways are bad. The tee boxes are bad. They gave up. It's clear, even though they won't admit it. They do less than the bare minimum on maintenance, so it's not worth it anymore.
