One of the Houston area's newest courses, Cypress Lakes Golf Club was designed by Jim Fazio, who carved the course out of the thick pine trees and used a significant number of lakes and bunkers to spice up this mounded track. Four sets of tees provide options ranging from 5,351 yards to 7,024 yards at the tips. In addition to the layout, the experience at Cypress Lakes is enhanced by the impressive driving range, which is complete with target greens guarded by bunkers -- an unusual look for a basic driving range.

Great Value for the $
Course was in good shape just coming out of winter.
Enjoyed the lay out of the course, greens were fast, but in good shape.
Will play it again in the spring once Winter is over..
Dry as a bone
The entire course was dry as a bone. The driving range had more dirt than grass. The course was not much better. You’d think that with all the rain over the past few months it would have been better. The ground was hard as a rock and dusty.
The greens were great and smooth - fast. The only problem was that many of the holes were slightly elevated so putts would bump by.
Otherwise - always a challenge.
Overall very nice experience
Winter conditions in Houston, so lots of issues with tighter lies than normal. Many bunkers need repairs. Greens are smooth and fast, though. Very enjoyable challenge. I'll continue to be back when I'm in town
I played a couple days after a strong rain so review is based on very wet conditions. Sand traps were ‘lakes. Balls hit into them were lost. Greens were so fast that your put may come right back at you. Tee boxes and fairways were average. Course is a very good layout and fun to Play but price should be adjusted to the course conditions.
Good course with a lot of rain problems
This is a really good golf course and the conditions were good considering the torrential rains we had lately. The bunkers suffered a lot of damage with sand washed out ponds in some of them, but other than that the course was good. Pace of play was better than normal here.
Good day in winter.
I was a single and teed off alone shortly after 1pm. I moved along nicely until the 9th hole where I caught a walking single. We played that hole together and then I joined up with a twosome on the tenth hole for the back nine. It was windy and the greens were super fast, but they played well. Tough course, got to keep it in the fairway. If you do that you can score.
Cypress roots
The greens were fast as usual and in good shape, there was really only one issue. If your out of the fairway, which I am sometimes. There seemed to be more large tree roots than I remember, please be careful. It's just a stroke to move it, not worth a lifetime of elbow issues if you hit one. This course can be fun and challenging at the same time, move up a tee box your first time. It maynot seem like it, but the wind will get you.
Greg
Great pace of play, greens were fast and fairways were in great condition 🤙
Fast pace
Green were very fast, but consisten. The course could use a little be more water. Our foursome played under 4 hours!!
Good value for the money
My first time on the course, I hope there is a whole course map on the scorecard to plan my play better.
Great golf, rude starter
First time at the course, so much fun. Challenging and a great layout, looking forward to going back, but not to make friends, as you will read. My tee time was at 12:09, I arrived at the first tee at......12:09. I would have been earlier but wasn't exactly sure where the first tee was so I searched around a bit. Carl, the starter, was quite possibly the rudest human being I have ever encountered on a golf course. I thought he was being sarcastic when he told me I was late for my tee time, and when he looked down at his watch it was 12:10, so I got an earful about that. When I realized he wasn't being sarcastic, I made sure to introduce myself and shake his hand to see if that would calm him down, but the rudeness continued. The gentleman at the pro shop was extremely nice and helpful, wouldn't you want your starter to be the same? I mean, this person is the face of the course. Makes me wonder how many people don't come back after how they are treated.
