One of the Houston area's newest courses, Cypress Lakes Golf Club was designed by Jim Fazio, who carved the course out of the thick pine trees and used a significant number of lakes and bunkers to spice up this mounded track. Four sets of tees provide options ranging from 5,351 yards to 7,024 yards at the tips. In addition to the layout, the experience at Cypress Lakes is enhanced by the impressive driving range, which is complete with target greens guarded by bunkers -- an unusual look for a basic driving range.

Five thirty thunderstorms
Lightning was 2 miles west at 630 pm and the grill and pro shop were locked. Seeking shelter I had to go to the porch. I suppose I could have gone to my car. Fire Marshall might need to get involved over employees locking doors when customers are on the premises.
Unpleasant Experience
Took my daughter to teach/play. We started on scheduled time, only 2 of us and played Texas Scramble to be ahead of the Pace of Play in consideration to other players.
Since we were ahead of Pace of Play, and having to wait the group ahead of us, I was using the extra time to give tips to my daughter by using additional shots sometimes.
The 3 Grumpy old men behind me assumed that we were delaying the pace of play and complaint to the Marshal several times and eventually confronted me about multiple shots. I allow them to go ahead and waited for them to play.
Following that I was again pursued by the Marshall who continued to complain about multiple play even thought we were being held by the group of 4 ahead of us.
My Daughter lost her concentration and did NOT enjoy the game from that point on.
I paid $175 for a mediocre gold course to have a father/Daughter Sunday morning ruined by a poor-quality Marshal, and a bunch of old farts so called members.
Never again!!! You can all shove your gold course.
All was great except for the greens, I am sure in a couple of weeks they will be great
Great track
Great track. Condition still pretty solid even given recent drought. Worth the extra $20 versus some courses near by in my opinion.
