Good course after bad weather
We have had a fairly long spell of bad weather, very, very cold, lots of rain yet the course was in good shape and playable.
Track
The lay out of the course is one of the best in the Baton Rouge area.
Still with incredibly slow 4 somes.
It was ok until 10 when we caught a foursome who acted like pros but played slower than 36 handicappers. They never let us play through.
I hate foursomes
Round was going good until hole ten when we came upon a foursome. One guy was good the others were horrible. They were stupid slow on the greens and never let us play through. Waiting on every shot affected our score. Groups of 4, 5 or more should not be allowed.
Wet course
While the course was wet, many groups were courteous and let me play through even though I didn't ask.
Very Good Condition
Nice Layout. Wide fairways for the most part, but good approaches are required. Condition was excellent considering all the sub zero weather we've had.
Great course
Enjoyed the course, it was in great shape and pace of play was excellent
Great layout
Beaver Creek may be my favorite golf course in or near Baton Rouge. The greens are currently in the best shape they have ever been in during the twenty plus years I have been playing this course. The pro shop and restaurant staff are not only friendly but they seem truly interested in their customers enjoying their time at this golf club. From the driving range to the chipping area that includes a bunker to the large practice putting green this golf club provides no excuses for not preparing properly for your round. The layout is challenging but offers plenty of opportunities to make birdies. A must play for those visiting Baton Rouge.
Great Public Venue
I really enjoyed this course. The practice facility was very nice, the staff was extremely nice and course was in good shape even though it had rained the day before we played. The greens were in great shape for winter play and we a bit slow but still rolled out fairly consistent. This course is pretty much wide open so you can get away with some loose shots but it also provides a decent challenge for all levels of player. We had a great time playing this course.
Cart path only
Having to walk from cart path only was unnecessary and made for slow golf
Beaver creek streak
Great course. Very nice fairways and nice greens with consistent speed. The only thing I didn't like is I had 5 straight pars to start the round and hole 6 gave me a +2. Now I understand that's my fault but I'm blaming it on the course because that's what golfers do. We blame stuff on the course not because we actually messed up
Inconsiderate young men
Not only was play stupid slow but a foursome of inconsiderate men hit into our group and didn't even acknowledge what they had done. We should have hit the balls back at them. This is what you get when it is BREC and not private or semi-private. You get idiots who can afford a cheap round of golf.
LSU Great Course
This course is one of the best I have seen all year. I am from Florida and we have some great course. I will love to play this course again the next time I am close by.
Greens were fantastic, fairways and rough were great. Only complaint is the lack of sand in the greenside bunkers. Had a great time will definitely return.
Great course at a great price
Beaver Creek is a nice course for the price. Greens roll true and are in great condition. Course has some scoring holes if you play them smart. Seems wide open but the bunkers will get you if you can't place your ball.
How many balls are allowed?
Had to wait on every hole because the group in front of us was hitting two to three balls on every shot. I guess in their defense the group of three in front of them was slow especially on the greens. This caused them to wait, us to wait and the groups behind us to wait. Pace of play still is horrible here.
In great shape
Been 10 years since I last played here and the course is in near perfect condition. Fast greens and great fairways. It was going down hill last time I played there ten years ago but now it’s the best BREC course. Well worth playing.
