Club at Hidden Creek, The
About
The Club at Hidden Creek is one of northwest Florida's most treasured courses. Opened in 1988, it is still relatively young but it has built its reputation on it its well manicured greens and lush landscaping. A few years after opening, a local newspaper ranked it the best golf course in northwest Florida. The course features tree-lined fairways that tumble across scenic rolling terrain. The challenging golf course once served as a host site for the US Open Qualifying Rounds. Water hazards come into play as well as several strategically placed bunkers. Although seasoned golfers are kept on their toes, the layout is more still approachable thank to four different sets of tees. The Club at Hidden Creek has a longstanding reputation amongst the local community and many would consider a visit to the Emerald Coast incomplete without it.

great place when dry
is great place when dry.played there few times
didnt have verry god time this last sunday. The course should have been closed.im sure with that much rain its going to be wet long time.if i knew was full of water i would not purchased tee times.the entire course had floods all over and was terrible,I waisted my money and 2 of my friends gave up.Hard to play in fish ponds everywhere!!
After Boo Wheatley event
Played day after Boo Wheatley tournament and course was in great shape. The rains came the night before delaying all tee time 2 hours. Allot of standing water after the rains in hazards and low areas. no. 8 was a pond by the green making it a stroke higher. 200 yards of water between the fairway and green and a smaller green. Overall I stayed dry given all the rain. Finished in 4 hours with a 5-some in front of us. Had to wait on most tee boxes which was the biggest issue.
Nice solid course.
Very nice course in good condition. Area has had a lot of rain over last month and as a result of a downpour the night before, the course had some standing water in places, but fairways were in excellent condition, never a bad lie. They totally rebuilt the greens and opened them the day before I played. Greens were very firm, which is typical for new greens, and this made the course play a little more difficult as it was too wet to run the ball up but the greens really wouldn't hold a shot. As the greens mature and soften, they should be really nice. They roll very nicely. Recommend this course for a good round at a fair price.
great greens !
i play this course often, and i have to say this is the best overall course around. you can find better courses in the destin area for 3 times the money but this course is tops for the money, location and the staff. they have recently invested a large amount of money in the whole course and the parking area is under construction, however , the course is tops!
Good time
The course was pretty we in some areas and there were temp greens but otherwise a nice track. The parking lot has a lot of construction a pain getting started but good value over all. I will be back to give it a go after the greens are back in play.
Great course for the average golfer
The course currently has temporary greens which were a little rough be we knew that prior to playing. The rest of the course was in excellent condition and had a great layout. Can't wait to get back when the greens are opened in July.
Work Ethic about the course needs to improve
I was aware of the temporary greens prior to purchasing this deal. I found out after starting that there was no place to practice sand shots or chipping. I soon learned that the bunkers had not been raked or dragged for at least 5 days (the pro shop worker confirmed what I suspected when my SW couldn't make it through the sand without chunking). Some of the temporary yardages were off because they were measured only by a range finder. Lastly the temporary greens were mostly acceptable but even some of them were in terrible shape.
On a good note, the fairways were in terrific shape.
Very nice course and friendly staff
The course is presently on temporary greens until July 3rd but I knew that before I scheduled the tee time. However, the rest of the course was in great condition. Nice layout and enjoyable to play for any average golfer.
Lved the course
Other than the greens being repaired (which i knew beforehand), the course was in great shape
This was not the best showing of Hidden Creek
Upon arrival we were informed that the greens were under constructiion and all holes had temporary greens in place. Had we known that we woUld not have booked this course. A total waste of money and the time spent driving not to mention gas. I wanted to show off an Emerald Coast curse to out of town guests. Guess I made a bad choice.
transition
I have been to Hidden creek many times and have even used the course for special events. But this past time was not the greatest. The club is in a big transition from new ownership and working to improve the course. The greens are in horrible shape right now because they are being prepped for remodel. Unfortunately we were only told this after showing up and paying for our round. Which in my opinion were too steep for the condition of the course. (even with the Golfnow rate) But nevertheless, we had come all the way and wanted to play so we did anyway. Besides the gentleman in the proshop, all the other staff that day were dismissive, slow, and just not the usual staff attentiveness that I have come to know and enjoy about Hidden Creek.
I gave this rating 3 out of 5 because I know that this course is a wonderful place to play and right now is in a transition. It will be a great place to play again in the future. But for me and my friends, we wont be returning for quite a while until they straighten things out over there.
Worst course around
The fact that they take peoples money to play here is criminal. The greens should be called the browns...there is no grass on the greens. Do everyone a favor and close this course until greens are re-done this summer. Oh, driving range is the worst layout ever and mix in some new range balls every couple of years.
Great layout--looking fwd to improvements
I love the layout and playability of this course. Unfortunately, the greens are terrible right now. They are scheduled for replacement in Apr and I can't wait to pay it this summer!
Course rounding into shape. Greens to be reworked in Apr-Jun.
I played the course as a single on a Wednesday at noon. Played 18 in 2hrs 10mins. Course is rounding into springtime condition. Fairways are filling in but the greens are terrible. However, the greens are to be completely reworked starting in Apr 2013 with work to be finished by 4th of July. Can't wait. This course is relatively short but narrow. When the wind blows, the scores can sky rocket. All-in-all, a good course for the GolfNow money.
Greens are Being Replaced
This course starts out with a wonderful view on a par 4, but once you approach the first green you realize that the green is not in any shape to be played on. The whole course was this way and although it made it hard to feel the nice iron/wedge shots onto the green the rest of the course was in good shape. The clubhouse was in excellent shape and the staff was very friendly. The only other issue I had was as a single player I got stuck behind a group of 5 and they would not let me play through.
Great clubhouse, course moderately difficult, greens in very bad condition
Staff was friendly, lunch was great, course was beautliful. However the greens were in very bad condition, very little grass.
This course has close and fix the green
This course need to fix their putting green almost every holes,
Needs help
This is a very fun course but they have lost their greens so putting is not fair. The staff are very friendly and helpful, I understand that the new management will be remaking all the greens this summer and when finished this will be a super course to play.
enjoyed the course. greens need some work
great layout, supper friendly staff, greens in rough shape
