Club at Hidden Creek, The
About
The Club at Hidden Creek is one of northwest Florida's most treasured courses. Opened in 1988, it is still relatively young but it has built its reputation on it its well manicured greens and lush landscaping. A few years after opening, a local newspaper ranked it the best golf course in northwest Florida. The course features tree-lined fairways that tumble across scenic rolling terrain. The challenging golf course once served as a host site for the US Open Qualifying Rounds. Water hazards come into play as well as several strategically placed bunkers. Although seasoned golfers are kept on their toes, the layout is more still approachable thank to four different sets of tees. The Club at Hidden Creek has a longstanding reputation amongst the local community and many would consider a visit to the Emerald Coast incomplete without it.

Horrible Pace of Play -- No Marshal
Seemed like a nice course in good winter shape. Teed off on time. Went well for 3 holes; then caught up with the pack with as many as 4 groups waiting at tees and waiting again on fairways. No sign of a marshal or any other club employees at any time. Due to prior commitment, I had to leave after 9 holes. It was going to be a very, very long round. Not happy.
I notified the golf management. Received curt reply.
Good golf course
My wife and I enjoyed the variety of holes. The trees lining the fairways were worth the price of admission by themselves. Live oaks covered with Spanish moss, palms of all varieties. There were tees for all skill levels ... properly rated for handicap purposes. The greens were consistent and smooth and the fairways were in good shape, considering it's the middle of the winter. We are definitely going back.
Great course for the money
My husband and I really enjoyed the course. The greens were in good shape.
Very Good Staff
I had a good time on this course. The staff was Friendly and welcoming. It was far better than my experience at Santa Rosa Golf Club. The course was full with players but the pace was good and the marshall kept tabs on things. Highly recommended.
Impressive.
All of the greens are very smooth and fast. Fairways are not perfect but very acceptable for this time of year. The course is scenic with very interesting holes. It will make you think of shot selection often to stay in play. I like the course and hope to play again when in this area.
Nice forgiving residential style course friendly staff -
Residential course in great shape well maintained greens and fairways. Gold tees only one p4 hole at 400...most 330-370ish. Tough p3 at 190 on front. Most fairways forgiving on stray tee shots.
Staff really friendly. Only issue is grill closed for private event and the concession stand outside was not staffed or operating. No snacks crackers....nada.
Slow Play
Course allows five ball groups.
GOOD COURSE TO PLAY
Was paired up with another couple and had a very good time. Play was a little slow but with the good company and the excellent weather more than made up for it.
Tight, Well-Conditioned Course
This course meanders through a golf community and is fairly tight. There are a few holes with bail-out areas, but for the most part, you have to hit it straight.
Not sure what type of Bermuda grass is used for the greens, but they were receptive and putted great.
Sand traps were well-kept, and fairways were closely mown. You could tell the maintenance crew is on their game here.
Pace of play was great on the front nine, but a foursome wouldn't let us through on the back so it was a bit slow. Otherwise I would have give the pace of play 5 stars.
I will play this course again if I'm ever in the Pensacola Beach area.
Great course in great condition!
Looking forward to playing there again.
great condition
first time playing in a while and although the start was rainy the course drained excellent and the greens stayed very quick and challenging !!!
best bang for the buck
I was pleasantly surprised by the conditions of the course, it has been eight years since I had played here and because of the course conditions we had to play the back nine twice. Course is in better shape than most of the course's in the area, it has been a tough year for fairways and greens and Hidden Creek has put alot of effort into this course!
Nice course
Very nice medium difficulty course. Wide fairways and not a lot of trouble. Good course for average golfer.
The greens were the best in the area
This course definitely has great potential! The fairways and greens were pristine. The only drawback was the sprinklers forcibly shooting watering into the wooded areas causing some flooding along the sides of some holes. Overall, great Father's Day round of golf.
Good value
Course was is very good condition, besides being a bit soogy. There's some absurdity to that because many sprinklers were blasting the whole time. They were facing out of play, but saturating the ground. Apparently the water company owns Hidden Creek and must be padding their numbers by wasting extreme amounts of water. Still and enjoyable experience and we'll worth the cost.
Favorite Course in the Navarre Area
I'm in Navarre Beach on a working vacation with my boyfriend (he's working, I'm vacationing), so I've been planning our golf outings mostly at twilight rates. BY FAR, the best overall course we've played in the area in terms of course condition, layout, and value is Hidden Creek. It's only 3 mi. away, and only $29 in the late afternoon. Other nearby courses (Tiger Point, Cypress Lakes) may have a few more interesting holes, but those courses are in nowhere near the nice condition of Hidden Creek.
Smooth, plush fairways, nice tight greens that roll true--and the fastest in the area--are par for this course. The sand in the bunkers was a little thick and heavy, but that was after a fairly heavy rain shower. The fairways were generally well drained. The hole layouts had some challenges, with lots of trees and bunkers in pesky areas to punish an inaccurate approach shot. Any water carries were manageable.
We play a competitive match play format, with course handicaps factored in (he's a 16, I'm a 33), and Hidden Creek was a fair and nicely balanced mix of challenging and more average holes. I won by only 1 hole. Overall, it was the most enjoyable course we've played this week. The boyfriend keeps saying, "Why are we going anywhere else?" The clubhouse restaurant is only open occasionally, so we haven't tried it yet, but the food smelled delicious. The pro shop staffer was friendly and helpful. My one constructive criticism is that there didn't seem to be a starter in the late afternoon/evening, so we had a couple of singletons start right on top of us (waved them through, but it would have maybe been better had they known to start on the back 9 and avoid running into us).
Challenging Course... Good Value
Played course while on vacation in the area. Very challenging with multiple tight fairways, but not overly difficult. A few greens had bare spots, but most were good. Person working the clubhouse was not friendly, but cart girls were nice. Overall, I would play the course again primarily for the value.
