Bear Creek Golf Club - East Course
About
Bear Creek Golf Club's East Course is considered a tad more difficult than the West, with tighter fairways and smaller greens. Fourteen of 18 holes dogleg, so its label as a target course is accurate. Elevation changes make club selection a challenge, and the par 5s are tough to reach in two. No. 5 stands out on the front: a 385-yarder that doglegs left and involves an approach over water. No. 8 is longer (418 yards) and features water in the fairway landing area and along the right side. On the back, no. 15 is the signature, playing 432 yards and tricky because of the blind approach shot.

Nice Course
Greens were slow, sand traps were rock hard, luckily I only ended up in one. Fairways and layout is nice, we played the West Course.
Bear Creek East Course - Worth Playing
This is a wonderful course to play. I played the East course two days in a row, Saturday and Sunday mid afternoon. . The course layout was phenomenal. This is a shot maker’s course The only drawback was the pace of play. Both rounds took over 5 hours. It was painful to wait hole after hole. I would play it again just because I loved the course layout.
All good but course pace is slow.
I played East course and overall it is good but compared to West course it is a run-down course that needs more attention. Noticed that sand traps are finally have some sand to play with. Course pace is horibly slow, i had to quit after first 9. Staffs are exceptioally nice and and courtous.
Super slow play
The pace of play was very slow. The price of this course is a bit high but if pace of play was better it would be worth it. They should either lower price or space out tee times more to allow for faster play. Great course with a lot of fun holes.
Booked Tee Times during a Tournament Scramble
They were booking tee times during a scramble event with a pace of play of 7 hours that allowed to only complete 7 holes. They didn't offer a refund or rain check
Great Course for the money
Great course, Greens needs some work and bunkers are hard. Overall nice course.
Slow Play
I'm not sure if they overbooked, but it took me almost three hours to get through the first 9. I didn't even start the back nine because it took 30 minutes for two groups in front of us to tee off.
Acceptable
The course was in decent condition. The pro shop staff was not the most inviting and informed me that it was cart path only that day…. Why can this detail not be broadcast in advance via golf now or reservation confirmation…
The course design was fun but that’s about it. The golf carts look like they just came back from a destruction derby! They gotta put some air in those tires, adjust the brakes and throttle, wash those carts WITH soap maybe…
The bunkers needed to be raked - “hard packed” sand for all the ones I had to get out of. The tee boxes needed to be rolled and flattened. The greens were good on speed, but looked beat up (maybe this will change come summer). The fairways had almost like rolls of cut grass clumped together which meant you either played off that or cleaned and placed. Imagine after a heavy rain or wind the grass accumulates and sticks to the ground.
Paid for the weather
This course is in horrible shape, the greens bounced the fairways were rough, the tee boxes looked like farm animals had been grazing on them.. The only thing this course had going for it was the bunkers, they were in good shape. We were playing at a 2 hour 9 hold pace and the ranger came by and said to speed it up! At the end of the day the management of this course needs to improve. The one warning I would say, its just south of DFW airport so expect there to be some noise.
Not a good value course
I was really looking forward to playing this course again. I paid over $80 to play on a Sunday and it was definitely NOT worth the price. I would avoid this course unless they lower the green fees. Needless to say, I will not be returning. The greens were in horrible condition. The fairways were fair at best.
First Time Back in a Few Years
I played the East Course for the first time in a couple of years. I forgot so any had doglegs which on the shorter holes makes it very easy to hit your tee shot through the dogleg. Fun course though. The greens were pretty rough, with weeds and bare spots on many of them. I know it’s early Spring but I have played some other courses with greens in better shape.
Unique course on international airport
This course always impresess me! Would never think a course with plans literally landing every few minutes would create a setting for a fun round of golf but somehow they have done it. Great vibe outside of clubhouse. Great layout. Many areas starting to green up. Many greens brown was kinda wierd but they rolled true just weren't pretty.
