Crystal Springs Golf Course

The course is good but slow play affected playing. It took nearly 5 hours to play a not very busy course.

Not sure why we lucked out, but our round was only 3 1/2 hours unlike many of the other reviews. Course is very hilly, weather was very windy and cold, but it's also very pretty and well laid-out so we had a great time. Price (through a discounted GolfNow deal) was amazingly good.
Bar/ proshop is indeed very shabby and the parking lot is also downmarket, but the people were nice and the course is a gem.

Beautiful view and landscape, very good design. The distance and layout are both superb. I rank it as one of the best public golf courses in the Bay Area. The biggest problem is the pace. Too many players, and some are walkers. Very slow and wait at every hole. The club house is a bit shabby.

Worth the money. Very challenging back 9. Playing senior tee box was fun.

2:43 for 9 holes . Not sure why it was Wednesday at 12.

My gripes with any course are 1) did we start on time, 2) the pace of play and 3) fairway, greens conditions.

I've played here many times and during this time I experienced a very pleasant time. Of course who you play with makes a big difference and this time I went solo but still managed to be paired up with really good guys.

We started right on time. We fell a little behind in pace of play but managed to get back on track a few holes in. The conditions were great! If you're not used to this course, it does offer challenging conditions but nothing so difficult that it ruins the outing.

This rates are typically higher than other local courses which is shame but I get it. I'm lucky enough to be able to get tee times during GolfNow's Hot Deals and even some that are just discounted (but not a Hot Deal) so I always think I'm getting a steal.

People do walk this course but be warned that it is hilly. I usually cart it.

If you like a bit of a challenge, great scenery (right by the reservoir), wildlife (you'll usually run into deer in a few holes), and well-kept conditions, this is the place for you.

Beautiful setting tucked in the hills of Burlingame.

Public course, challenging for all levels, quick greens. Setting makes for a nice afternoon, wildlife abounds. You will see Deer, Turkey, and Hawks, and hopefully a few “birdies”!!!

A lot of players have complained about pace of play but it's probably the time of day when they play. I teed off at 700 am and my last putt on 18 dropped in at 1005 am. A 3 hour round was awesome!!

Good day out there. The rough was a bit longer than usual, and greens definitely slower, but still very Good.

i really like this course. rarely an even lie (by design hah), lots of interesting tee and approach shots. gives you plenty of opportunity to choose how to play a hole, risk/reward tee shot on six is great from the elevated tee. tricky greens that roll well enough for this bogey-ish golfer.

pace of play can be an issue, but that's hardly unique to this place for better or worse.

The pace of play was very slow. There was no on course management or field Marshall.

The fairways were solid and the greens were too.

The tee boxes need a little TLC

First I should say I play here frequently so although the course has issues it's one of the nicer courses close to where I live. Pros - I love the layout, very challenging for a high handicap player and the good sticks as well. It's also very scenic. You can usually get good deals here between $35-$55.

Cons - the pace of play, be prepared for a 5-6 hour round. They just always pack to many players on the course. Bring your own food. There is no food on the turn, there is occasionally a beer cart and when there is you will likely only see it once. The restaurant has crappy food that's overpriced and they are super slow.
