first few holes are tricky back nine is easier
Clubhouse has deteriorated over the the years facilities pretty basic toilets. If it were me make plans to pull the clubhouse down and rebuild because it has a great aspect over the 16th and 18th.
Great design, nice fairways. Green need to be better groomed
Nice design. We have appreciated the lay out. Course in good condition except for the greens that were patchy.
Good value for what we paid. Speed of play extremely fast, too fast sometime. We played well Inside 4 h.
this course has well protected greens by multiple bunkers
We had a great deal at $17 for a round with cart. The greens showed that it has been too hot so they can't cut the greens, so a little slow but still roll true. It was great as we were almost alone on the course and the staff was really nice
COURSE WAS OVER CROWED AND EXTREMELY HARD FOR THE AVERAGE GOLFER
I TOOK FAMILY MEMBERS THERE AND TOLD THEM THTAT THE COURSE WAS GREAT BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE FROM LAST YEAR. WHEN WE ARRIVED, CHECKED IN AND WHERE TOLD THEY WERE RUNNING BEHIND A LITTLE. WE SAT AND THE STARTER STAND FOR AND HOUR AND A HALF PAST OUR TEE TIME WHILE THEY LET PEOPLE WHO BOOKED FOR THREE AND SHOWED WITH SEVEN GO BEFORE US.
NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE FOR MY FAMILY AND THE COURSE OFFERED NO APOLOGY AFTER I SPOKE WITH THEM ABOUT THE SITUATION. I WONT PLAY THERE AGAIN.
Coming Back
New Management seems to be bringing the course back...
this course is in poor shape
we were disappointed the front 9 was closed we had to play back 9 2xs. Course was in poor shape.
this course in need of repair
played there 10/24/2013 it was in poor condition greens where patched and full of weeds traps where hard and weeds growing in them fairways where fair not much grass in places overall this course needs a lot of work
The real Florida
The front nine was not in play but a nice course never seen any rattle snakes maybe next time
Great layout. First three holes are extemely challenging. Beautiful natural setting.

Interesting holes which are enjoyable to play.
One of our favourite courses because every hole is interesting. Yes work is needed on the greens and the tee boxes ...but still enjoy Diamond Back and will continue to come..
Course needs work to greens and tees
What a disappointment. Diamondback has been a must play for years. We come over from Scotland every year and it`s the first course we head for. However, this year it is in the worst state I`ve ever seen it. The greens are a lottery. Get yourself a Chipmaster for putting! There are large areas which have been patched but are not on the same level as the rest of the surface. The tee boxes are mainly mounds of dust with the odd blade of grass . However,I must say the fairways were excellent. There was a notice at the clubhouse stating that all bunkers were " rake and place". This was a must as there were mostly solid with grass sprouting through.
Having said all that, the staff were brilliant as always and we will head there again next year. Hopefully the course will be back to its best.
Just a little more time
One of my favorite places to play in Polk county. This place is on its way back to being one place that a golfer must play, challenging layout, with some elevation and tight doglegs. Hopefully in a few months diamondback will be at the place, where it use to be a few years ago. Just a little more time.
Beautiful day of golf. Very nice fairways, not to wide. I love Diamond Back.
Love to play Diamond Back. It's a narrow course and my wife and I love it. We're not that good at golf but we try and it's good exersize.A bad day of golf is better than a good day on the couch.

Getting back
I played this course at the start of the summer and it was pretty rough, but they have differently been working hard to get it back. Still have some work, but its looking and playing good.
Diamondback
Unfortunately, the course has deteriorated since we visited 12 months ago. The greens, fairways and bunkers are all in need of maintenance. There is evidence of a recovery programme in place for the bunkers. Lets hope that it isn't too long before this wonderful course is returned to its former glory.
enjoyable course, good for mid handicaps off of back tees
Only issue i had was with a slow playing 4 ball in front, of which only 1 could play to a handicap standard. We got through on 6th hole but threy weould have taken approx 6 hours to complete.
do the course ask for handicap golfers only
The course is narrow but fun
This could be a great course.. It has some beautiful holes
A gem of a course
Diamondback is a gem of a golf course. You won't find a lot of glitz and glamor here, just golf in a nature reserve. No houses, no highways along side, no noise other than the sounds of nature, you are out in the country and you feel 100 miles away from the city and so it's easy to let yourself get into the golf. The course itself is difficult, but fair, played from the tips as it requires accuracy and length in certain areas. We have always found the course conditions to be in very good condition and the greens smooth and consistent. It may be because this is off the beaten path a bit (1 hour drive from Orlando airport) that they don't get the traffic that some of the more popular courses do so they are forced to keep their prices lower and that may hurt their ability to do all the tweaking to the course that they would like. But but that's also a good thing as it makes Diamondback a great golf value. The restaurant is also a place not to be missed for good food and a relaxing beer after the round overlooking the pond and waterfall and closing holes. Make this course a priority to play and you won't be disappointed.
Most enjoyable round of golf in a long time!
This course has a lot to offer in beautiful and challenging holes. A lot of doglegs require planned ball placement. Strategic bunkers and hazards are not for the feint of heart. The course was under renovation that, when complete, will render a pristine course that can be enjoyed by all level of golfer because of tee placement opportunities. I want to go back and have another go at it. A major plus, in summer months especially, is the availability of cold drinking water.
Course was under repair
The coures was under repair for greens and bunkers but needed far more attention than that. This was always a great course for the money but is in extremely bad shape now; fairways were horrible with weeds and tee boxes would be bare if not for weeds. Very disappointing!
