White Heron Golf Club (formerly known as Ridgewood Lakes Golf Club) has had many accolades over its history and for good reason. The Ted McAnlis layout is sculptured from lush rolling land and features immaculate playing conditions year round. Water and natural wetlands come into play on 16 of our 18 holes and the resident breeze can significantly change the course from day to day. Yet despite the natural beauty and obvious pedigree of the layout, with four sets of tees the course is still enjoyable for golfers of all levels.

The course has great potential

The one thing that let this course down was the state of the greens. They were patchy with a lot of sand and not much grass near impossible to play on.

Putting Greens have no grass

I played here like 7 weeks ago, and the only green in bad shape was #1. Sunday 95% of the greens are dead. Like most courses that use GN they never let the customers known the greens are in bad shape. It’s a shady way of getting golfer's to come play that course. I came out from Orlando, that’s on me, if anyone reads this review note that the greens are dead. The 16th par 5 had crushed sea shells all over the place. It wasn’t from the bunkers either. How are you supposed to putt when your ball bounce’s right, then back left. To sum up their review, stay away from White Herron, I should be refunded.

White Heron

Great track with challenging holes. Course management is important. Greens need to be replaced and the course will be doing that project in the near future.

Needs a lot of work

Most of the fairways are ok. You can find grass to hit from.
Tee boxes hit or miss.
Greens need to be dug up and start from scratch. Some are mostly mud.
A few are ok .
If you want to get some swings in and can get it for less than $25 go for it.
Like the layout, hoping the new ownership brings it to life. Start with the greens.....

Hoping for better

Staff friendly. Practice areas good. After reading the course description I was hoping for a little better. It’s always hit or miss when you’re away from home on vacation. I loved the layout. But greens on front were chunky and burnt out. Back nine definitely better. Some areas of the course seemed unfinished or still a work in progress. Still enjoyed the round though.

Staff, practice area and course layout great. Greens and tees not good. Fairways fine. Price should be lowered to reflect conditions.

Great course layout, love how you had to think about placement of shots, fun wildlife, multiple gators, turtles, herons, a snake . I played as a solo and was messing around and still finished in about 2:45. Only complaint was the greens being worked on and the inconsistency of speed . I rented clubs, but had to pay for sleeves of balls and only had 56 wedge. Otherwise Srixon clubs were very nice

Just ok

Fairways were beautiful!! Layout is very challenging. The issue is the greens! They are losing control of them quickly! Hope they can be saved

Very nice round of golf. Fast pace of play, just over 3 hours for 18 holes. Most of the course was neatly manicured. Greens rolled true and fast. Great value for money!

Beautiful course

The course has a very nice layout. Plenty of water. The only downer for me was the greens. They were very short and very fast. Staff was friendly.

Much improved, still beautiful!

This course has always had a beautiful, interesting and challenging layout. We used to love it for the wildlife, staff friendliness & layout. All those features are still present. The course has been vastly improved - fairways & tees are in good condition, most greens are ok (some in process of repair or need replacement), and new plantings are apparent around the course. But it needs a Marshall! The pace was way too slow.
