About
The 18-hole Cardinal at Diamondhead Country Club, half of a 36-hole layout on the property, is a semi-private course that opened in 1979.
Designed by Earl Stone, the golf course measures 6,831 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 132 and a 72.7 USGA rating. The course features four sets of tees for different skill levels.
The major challenges for both golf courses are their tree-lined fairways. The Cardinal Course is wooded and was built on gently rolling terrain. It has no parallel fairways and extra-long sand bunkers.

Poor condition
2 days after Francine and traps had not year been ftouched after the rain and wind from Francine, greens were in bad shape with bare/dead spots on most holes. No grass in the roughs, balls role out of bounds if you miss the fairway. Workers in the pro shop are not very welcoming. Bar restaurant was good service after the round.

Since I play in Louisiana on flat courses this round was awesome. The front nine was nice and when I got on the back 9, it was as if I was playing on another course. More hilly, more bunkers, doglegs and more water. I played the Cardinal course and I’ll try the Pine course next round. I hope the Pine course won’t disappoint me.
Nice course
No real complaints. Everything was in pretty good condition. Couple sand traps needed a little work and they are doing some work on a few fairway spots but all and all the course is nice. Those things don’t detract from it being a fun course. Greens were very nice
Like hitting of carpet
Greens are fast and fairways were like hitting off carpet. Beautiful course
