Cardinal at Diamondhead Country Club

About
The 18-hole Cardinal at Diamondhead Country Club, half of a 36-hole layout on the property, is a semi-private course that opened in 1979.
Designed by Earl Stone, the golf course measures 6,831 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 132 and a 72.7 USGA rating. The course features four sets of tees for different skill levels.
The major challenges for both golf courses are their tree-lined fairways. The Cardinal Course is wooded and was built on gently rolling terrain. It has no parallel fairways and extra-long sand bunkers.

Really Nice Greens
Very hot day, nice there was some shade and water on course, along with cart services.
Greens were well manicured with subtle undulations, they rolled consistently although as the day heated up, the they became a little prickly. Hard to find ball marks on greens, did a lot of repairs from other groups. The greens had a tendency to roll out a bit more than expected and broke a bit less as well.
One of best courses I've played, layout & course shape.
Played both Cardinal & Pine courses, both very similar in design, I preferred the Cardinal but both are great choices.
Fairways like hitting of of carpet. Greens fast and true. Wonderful day of golf
Amazing course, strategic layout, fast greens
This course was awesome. I’ve played all over Mississippi and this so far is ranking in my top 5 courses to play. The way the holes are laid out makes you think a lot about every shot you take and makes you plan out your follow ups. It’s a course where it’s very important to be in position off the tee, so you don’t want to get out and just spray and pray. The pin positions here could definitely make it tough, but most of the greens are gettable as long as you keep it together.
Excellent course
Nicest Golf course that played.
Course is in prefect condition.
I will be back.
Great course
Friendly, professional staff. Course was in great shape. Greens were fast. Can’t wait to come back and play again.
Glad we waited...
Booked the round days ahead. Drove over from New Orleans with my friend. We were excited to play, but concerned about an unexpected torrential downpour sweeping right through the area. We decided to wait out the rain and had a delicious lunch in the clubhouse. The staff was very accommodating and we were able to push our tee time an hour. The front nine started out as cart path only and by that the time we made the turn, the course was dry enough for 90°. The course was well maintained, the staff was great. Hoping to play again soon.
