#9 green, right in front of the clubhouse was by far the best conditioned of the day! Photo submitted by u547358672 on 03/15/2023

Great Course and Great Value
We prepaid our greens fees in advance using GolfNow and received almost 50% off a 1pm tee-time. The course was in excellent shape after all of the recent rain. Highly recommended!!
Cool round at Grey Rock
Great value at Grey Rock using Golfnow; played 18 holes with a cart in less than 3 1/2 hours mid week. Greens are rolling nicely and fairways are in good shape. Not many others out due to the cool weather, enjoyed a nice day on the course!
Golf Cource Condition
The sand traps need some attention - you need to rake them!
local golfer
I was very disappointed as they closed the course and never notified me or anyone else.
I saw no reason for the course to be closed but it just was.
I guess they don't care about their customers I will just keep going to Vaaler
south austin gem
enjoyed this course. friendly staff and clean facilities.
Loved it!
It is a beautiful layout and the staff is awesome. The starter let me play by myself and I finished in under 3 hours. The course is in great shape except the greens were average speed. It is a challenging layout that keeps it interesting. What I liked the most is the peace and quiet out there, the first 8 holes are by homes but the back nine is calm and serene. Just a little pricey...
Great course
Awesome!
Great shape!!
Good pace of play!
Worth the price to play a round!
The staff all around are very helpful and courteous!
Layout
Overall great course! I played from gold tee the course was challenging. Traps are well kept. I would play this course again.
Great course, but far too expensive for a public golf course.
A really enjoyable round of golf. The down side was 'cart path only' because of Austin's water restrictions. But the course is in pretty good shape inspite of the heat and drought. It is a great addition to Austin's public golf courses.
Great deal from GolfNow
This course is very challenging and was really fun to play. The only downside was the inconsistent greens, but you can only do so much with Austin water restrictions and 100 degree weather. I will definitely be back to play again.
Challenging, well maintained course.
Challenging course. New owner and management. Are keeping it in great shape. GN Hot Deals make it affortable.
nice course but......
There's no way I would pay the regular price. We paid $45 for a Saturday afternoon time. Got a discount using Golfnow. The course is fun to play and the conditions were good....certainly not great but passable. I can't believe someone would pay $70+ to play there. $45 seems about right for a full weekend fee. The pace of play was fine. They weren't fully booked which I totally understand because they are so overpriced. And the cart girl came around often. I think she was having a bad day. Kind of grumpy. But we had a fun time and I would recommend the course if you can get a decent discount on your green fee.
first time at Greg Rock Golf Course
As a birthday present for one of my friends, three other friends and myself booked 18 holes at Greg Rock via Golfnow.com. the Coursey has absolutely beautiful drive-up appeal. The landscaping and club House were immaculate. The pro shop and bar were well stocked and staffed with competent, pleasant and helpful. The bar and grill even provided an on course refreshment and snack cart.
I liked their notion of a warmup bucket of balls with greens fees which were machines dispensed on a very well maintained driving range. Located close to the drinking range was a well-manixured chipping and putting green which very closely presented on course green conditions.
The course itself is one of the best I've ever played. The had a good mix of hole difficulty that provided an appropriate mix of challenge and just pure fun.
The only drawbacks for me personally is that I wouldn't have played the course without the 'hot deal' from Golfnow.com, where you get a discount for playing during the hot part of the day. I wouldn't have gone if I had to pau full greens fees. For me, the coursr is not one to walk. There are some spots where it is a trek between green and next tee box. I had a cart so it was no real issue.
But, with that being said, you get what you pay for. And for this Sunday afternoon round, it was definitely worth it. My friends and myself had a great time.
Greg Rock, y'all dun gud!
Course in Decline
This is my home track and I hate to see it going the way of Lions or other Austin muni's. Cart girl never made an appearance. Greens were aerated without notification or discount on the round. Hope things start to improve soon cause this is a great course when managed properly.
Grey rock
The course was a
Little dry especially the tee boxes.....the greens were in good shape .....I would play this course again
Early Morning Excellence
We were the first group out on the morning of July 4th. The weather couldn't have been better, the course was in great shape, and we finished our round in 3:15, which rarely happens.
Love the course!
Fine Day of Golf
Course in excellent conditions, including greens and bunkers. Course design makes good use of the terrain, with a couple of doglegs left and right. Some fairway moguls, and greenside grass bunkers add interest. For the most part the course is what you see is what you get. A couple of longish par 3's (from the Blue tees) make for a challenge. The rough makes accuracy a premium, but not to worry because most of the fairways are generous. There are a couple of great, short par pars with good risk/reward. A fine day of golf.
Friendly staff
I was asked by 4 different staff members how I was doing and if I liked the course. I answered that both I and the course were both doing great.
City of "Austin" makes an impact.
I have played Circle "C"/Grey Rock since the opening. Great Course when Gary Bradley owned it. The greens were among the top 5 in the area and the courtesy of the staff could be used a promotion for the course. Will not play there again until the rates match the quality of the experience.
Good condition!! Fun play
Fun. Great condition. Best South Austin course by far. Good location. Great facilities.
