Rancho Manana Golf Club
About
Rancho Manana Golf Club has one of the prettier courses in Cave Creek-Scottsdale, located high in the Sonora and combining vistas with testing golf. It offers a par-70 championship golf course laid out over elevations that change dramatically right up alongside the untouched desert and the indigenous wildlife that comes with that, as well as an old-school dude ranch that has been incorporated into the golf resort. Low-handicap golfers will be challenged by the golf course, but it's not so tough that other levels of golfer will be turned away.
The Rancho Manana Golf Club offers golf to the public and is conveniently located just 20 minutes off the highway.
After a round of golf at the Rancho Manana Golf Club, stick around for around and maybe some eats at the Tonto Bar & Grill, which has received several awards and is listed among Arizona's top 100 restaurants.

Embarrassing at every level - why would the AGA play here???
I rarely post but I’ve never seen a worse experience in AZ.
This course is supposed to be hosting the AZA one day tournament in June - why????
There was an 8 some playing at one point (yup 8!!!) and it was a 3 hour front nine. We had 3 groups waiting on 6 tee.
The tees are dried out and the greens were overrun with crab grass.
$130??? I’ve played minis and camp ground courses for $40 that are better.
The ownership should be embarrassed and AZA should change the location in June to another course
Wisconsin golfer
Absolutely loved the golf course the staff was very friendly the course was in great condition the views from the golf course were amazing would definitely recommend it to everyone and will definitely be back
Golf and Views
Course is not long but still provides challenges. Desert hazards to negotiate add to the difficulty factor.
Beautiful desert views from multiple holes.
Everything we hoped for
Beautiful scenery and fun layout with minimal gimmicky holes and unreasonable shot demands. Our first time playing, so we found hole descriptions helpful. We’’ll be back!
Great Course
This is our second time at Rancho Manana and the weather was perfect, the course was in great condition and dinner at Tonto's was excellent. We highly recommend the course and restaurant. Try the prickly pear martini!
Love Rancho
The course is basically a National park with incredible views and you can often times see AZ wildlife. The staff is super laid back and nice. The course is usually in great condition. Highly recommend.
Review
Enjoyable round. Marshall was a bit pushy about slow play when we hadn’t seen the foursome behind us for 5-6 holes. People at club house and starter were nice.
I was expecting more
It was just “Okay”. Some fun , interesting holes for sure but I wasn’t impressed with the greens as the were exceptionally slow. Very fuzzy. No greeters at the club, but they were there to wipe down our clubs after for a tip. A long line of bags waiting to be brought in so we hauled our own and loaded them on a cart we picked out. It wasn’t even busy. I only paid $71 for the golf now rate at 3:00. I would have been really unhappy with the course if I would have had to pay their normal rate of $140 or so. I simply was of the impression this was going to be a better set up than I felt it was.
Good and Bad
Fairways good. Greens exceedingly slow with competing grasses. Bunkers were hard and unreliable.
Vistas were beautiful.
Worth every cent
I live in the valley of the sun, and I do not play this course very often: but it never disappoints. When you look at the scorecard, you think you were going to tear this course apart because it is short. Swallow your pride, and move up to one of the forward tee boxes. This course is very difficult, but I think it is fair.
The turf is in incredible condition, there was one green on the back side, a 500 yard par 5, that was beyond bad. The others were in great shape but slow.
The views are beyond stunning and the desert plants are still in full bloom. Bring your camera or phone.
Great setting - Greens need agronomic attention
We live in this area full time. This was our second time playing Rancho Mañana. 7 years ago and yesterday. The setting and layout is beautiful with enormous elevation changes. Blue tees play at only 6,000 yards but positioning off the tee is critical with several blind tee shots and severe downhill part three holes.
Play was slow until no. 10 and it spread out.
My constructive comments were green surrounds and approaches not ideal. It was Sunday so perhaps that explains that issue. More importantly, the volume of poa seed heads on all putting surfaces is unacceptable especially a course with high play and, resulting revenue. The superintendent and usga green visits have likely recommended turf growth regulators for the putting surfaces. It is an expensive but critical program that should be immediately put in pla ce.
Golfers talk about greens more than a beautiful setting and I would not be a repeat customer without knowing the surfaces were top priority.

Course is very tight with no room for error. Better be a target golfer of bring a ton of balls! Great Views
Very touristy
Marshall sucks 2-3 groups held up at multiple holes
