Dove Valley Ranch Golf Club
About
Robert Trent Jones II designed the golf course at Dove Valley Ranch Golf Club, creating a championship course to shift gently from open play to intimate foliage along Willow Wash. The golf delivers Southwestern authenticity, with etroglyph-etched boulders marking holes. It differs from the "target" golf courses of Arizona in that it features player-friendly golf, manicuring transition spaces so that golfers face minimal penalty when recovering.
At the Dove Valley Ranch Golf Club, Robert Trent Jones II demands strategic and varied shooting, meaning the round of golf will challenge as well as refresh golfers.
After the round at the Dove Valley Ranch Golf Club, head back to the casual elegance of the clubhouse.

High class experience and quite a challenging track!
Let me start by saying this course is always in beautiful condition and has respectable rates year-round, even during prime tee times and peak season. It is well maintained and the large greens provide a luxurious experience that elevates creative play opportunities and challenging putts. Be sure to bring your desert target golf A-game on the back nine! There is hazard potential every stroke but as long as your keep you tee shots in line, then the grass is plush in the fairways and responsive. Really a stunning track and worth returning to!
Ranger power
Rangers are jerks. We were rift on time (little late for the 8:15 tee time, I called ahead to let the starter know.
We arrived at 8:13, we were not told to head to the 1st tee, I expected they would bump us back due to our tardiness.
Nope!
We got settled into the cart & inquired when we were going out, he said go ahead you're up.
Arriving at the 1st tee was a 2some & the ranger.
This older man says "hurry up tee off to catch the group (2some) in front. As we were getting ready he looked back & said "I told you tee off quickly, these guys are waiting". I told him that's our plan.
He told me we weren't moving quickly enough & started to become a dick!
I advised him I called ahead & was in no rush, the 2 some waiting could go ahead. That group said no rush you won't be holding us up (they play slower or are not very good).
After teeing off the other marshall came by on the 1st fairway telling us we would be joining the 2some in front of us on the 2nd tee as soon as we finish.
I replied "yes, we were told this by the other marshall.
This went on for the first 2 holes, rushing is to move quicker. Subsequently I hit into the group we were expecting to join, thinking they were made aware & waiting on us.
We were visited by these 2 Marshall's 4 times in the first 2 holes!
FFS! This is ridiculous & rude!
The greens are peppered with ball marks all over, the fairways are immaculate.
We were never pushed by anyone behind us, only caught the group in front at the 16th tee.
The group we joined was a adult male & young (12 or 13 year old) child, who hasn't played much & needed extra time.
I will never return to this course & will make sure to advise Golf Now of my review as well.
The 1st hole & a few other holes on the front, face due east into the 🌞, making it difficult to track the & slower play.
Course is in great shape. Much improved from last time played over a year ago
Good, but slow back 9 killed the joy
Good.l course. We overpaid, but that is fine. Round marred by really slow play on back 9. We barely finished even though we teed off with enough time to get the round in before dark.
Great course, perfect condition
We played early morning and had a great round. The course is in excellent condition and is exceptional for a public course. I am by a 7 handicap and thoroughly enjoyed it. I will be back.
Golf Course Review
Course fairways were cut down to get ready for the overseeding to take place in October. Still very playable and enjoyable. Greens were in good shape. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Looking forward to playing this track again.
Overpriced for the time of year
It's still summer, and courses charging over $100 a round shouldn't be. I recall a time when summer rates were reasonable. The course is starting to brown out due to preparation for fall overseeding, so this was another reason the rates should have been less. All things considered, it was an enjoyable round on a course that offers a reasonable amount of challenge. The greens were in very good shape, all things considered.
Great course conditions
From the start of entering the premises you feel like you’re entering a first class country club. Clubhouse was very clean and lots to choose from. Free range balls with the round was a big plus. We drove down from Prescott now that the weather is getting cooler in the valley and this was the first time playing here. It was very welcoming. Great practice facility. Very fast greens and great conditions. I couldn’t believe how green it was compared to pictures I had seen on 18Birdies app. I loved the layout and definitely want to come back and try and better my score of 87.
Summertime Golf in AZ
Honestly, if you want a good-quality course with proper fairways and greens, good-working carts, and friendly service from the cart girl to the course manager, it's really hard to beat Dove Valley. Yeah, you pay a little more than you might normally, but they really deliver. I have played at a plethora of different courses this summer in the valley, and so far, Dove Valley has impressed me the most. If you are a beginner looking for something memorable or a veteran wanting some good conditions and friendly staff, this is the place! Thank you, Dove Valley. We will see you several more times before the year ends!
Great value & course conditions
Played Dove and enjoyed the round. Pac3 of play very good, greens firm and friendly staff on and off 5he course. The price was great compared to other clubs and they don’t take advantage of golfers on beverages.
Nice course
Front nine is pretty open, with the back nine having some target golf
Best of The Boulders Package
Maybe get to your tee time on time without leaving negative reviews. It's the starters job to keep groups on pace, it's your job to be on time.
