About
Located in Mesa, Desert Sand Golf Course is an executive length course with a short layout that is most suitable for beginners, but it is also a good place for golfers of all skill levels to work on their short game skills. Due to its flat terrain, the course is easy to walk with few elevation changes. The greens are remarkably fast and water hazards come into play on five holes. There are also sand bunkers scattered throughout the course. The Desert Sand Golf Course facility offers a chipping area and putting green and it is also home to a golf school.

Average course, short for medium player. Good for the older players that dont hit far.

Patchy
The fairways are in good shape, but if you're one yard off the fairway be prepared to have tufts of grass and bare spots. Tee areas and the areas in front of greens need mowing.
I'm also wondering why I can't submit scores from this course to GHIN.

Short course, good for beginners
A short course that would is good for a beginner golfer or someone trying to improve their short game. The greens were in good shape. If your ball stayed on the fairway you were okay. The 'rough' was not really rough, but mostly hard gravelly areas. Crossing the busy street to play part of the back nine was not nce. The staff were really friendly!

Solid executive course for the money
Course in good condition overall. A couple of greens can use some work. Challenge is greens, with many being turtle back make par 65 layout a good test.

Not happy
The price increase over previous years is fat to high. We play much better golf courses in this price range, which have much better course conditions . We will not be returning.

Fun Round at Desert Peaks
Desert Peaks was in good shape. Fairways were well over-seeded. Greens were smooth but a little slow. It was an enjoyable place to play on a shorter layout.

Fun course for the money
Greens on front 9 were not in best shape, back 9 was much better. Overall course was in decent shape. When many executive courses are charging $50-$60 this was a great value at $25 through Golf Now.

Greens are kinda domed but pin placements were not on sides. Greens overall pretty good shape

Nice short course, very busy. Beverage service available during the day. Fairways were generally nice.

Go at your own risk
My wife and I went and were paired with another. I dont care for that, but I know that is standard when busy. The pair we were grouped with but the staff in the pro shop and the ranger were extremely rude. They kept complaining to everyone about pace of play and it isnt my fault they put us in fours which slows pace of play. The ranger then instructed played to tee off immediately after the group in front we don't play that way so we waited until they were well outside range. My wife and I almost got hit on three occasions from the group behind us playing into us. The next time the ranger came around complaining to all the groups I told him what happened and that he needed to cut it out. He didn't come back to our group again and the group behind us stopped hitting into after they were told to stop driving before we could even hit our second shot. If you could somehow find a day where you have minimal interaction with the staff and you don't have idiots playing the course that can't figure out that the rangers direction is ridiculous, than go for it. I wouldn't put much faith in those odds and I would go back to the course even if it was free.
