Superstition Springs Golf Club

About
The East Valley's Superstition Springs Golf Club offers one of Arizona's most testing layouts, measuring over 7,000 yards, with a slope rating of 130. Golf course architect Greg H. Nash designed the course and worked with the landscape already in place to provide the abundant mounding, wide bunkers and good-looking but tough-playing water features.
By the time he had finished with the Superstition Springs Golf Club, Nash had created a golf course that Golfweek called one of America's Best Golf Courses.
After - or before - a round of golf at the Superstition Springs Golf Club, hit up the restaurant for breakfast, lunch or drinks either inside or on the patio, which overlooks the golf course's signature hole, the ninth.

Arsis Fail
Course was in the worst condition I’ve ever seen
Burnt out fairways little to no grass greens bumpy and trash in the low areas from the flood
Superstition. Missing the old days
Not the course of old. Course is showing it's age. Lots of trash and debris scattered. Lots of dead trees. Overall fair course conditions.
Course still plays nice, is challenging, and enjoyable. I would recommend for an easy, no frills experience.
Gets worse and worse
What you would think would have been a great holiday golf time was anything but that. Nobody to greet you or offer a cart, nobody answering the phones, no drink cart, course was so dirty. Mind you all on a holiday you would think they would atleast clean it up. Definitely worth the price nor would I recommend this place to anyone.
Awful course
Once a great course to now one of the worst courses in AZ. Don't play here. Field conditions are horrible. No starter to push pace along. Have to pay for range balls which is absurd. Maintenance people who oversee the course conditions needs to be fired and includes the manager. No cart lady. Water jugs were empty. Bathrooms are disgusting. Players beware. Golf at your own risk. It's your money.

Thank you!

Superstition was amazing

Under repair
Might need to wait unless you have a really great price. Lots of fairways and tee boxes roped off or off limits. It will be back in time.

Thank you for providing feedback. Yes we are wrapping up our tee leveling project. all holes are open - some tees may on a forward box until later this week.
Fun day on the course!
Iv's always enjoyed this course. The greens unfortunately were in terrible shape. I hope they plan on getting them back to a more playable condition after the summer. Overall a really fun round and I will be back.
T boxes and bumpy greens
May deal with the issue that some T boxes are been treated, but greens are terrible, bumpy in some areas, without turf in others, not a course to go back, not without mentioning that bunkers are pure xoncrete ( thats how hard are them).

Hello - thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. We hope you will give it another go in the future. The greens were kept long to help heal but the good news is that we have just cut them down - in fact double cut today!
Virus on greens. Facility’s falling apart
Been playing the same course for 5 seasons and the last 2 years course conditions got worse and worse.
Someone behind the scenes was nice enough to mention most of the greens have a multiple virus variants since the old super intendant neglected the greens all year. It doesn’t seem like the overpriced greens fees are being recycled back into bettering the course. What was once heaven on earth now now look like dirt track for goats/ E bikes.
Apparently someone broke through a window a couple days ago and stole the ATM machine ( again ) for 2nd time within a year.
Also be careful walking down the sketchy stairs connected to the bar/restaurant.
A fella tripped going down to end his day early with a broken hip couple weeks ago. That was the 2nd time within a year someone fell down the same stairs causing a trip to the hospital.
Seems like the course has too much bad juju and doesn’t give you a bang for your buck. The layout is awesome, outside service staff are nice. Marshalls are awesome. 3 new GM’s within 2 years.
One noticeably good sign is most tee boxes got resurfaced.
Got a feeling the new head greenskeeper will bring the course back to life for the new season.
Remember to bring sage and cleanse your energy before walking on property.
Poor Condition
The greens are tore up! Some areas are straight mud... Hole 18 putting green is half gone. Not sure why they aren't discounting this course based on the conditions... Fairways are muddy everywhere... Avoid for a while until they shape up...

I'm sorry for $85 dollars I paid there are much better courses in decent shape. If the price was discounted because of the conditions then I understand but only giving discounts on weekdays?
Great Bones, turf tough
While the water has been removed from various points of the course (see what’s now the 18th hole, used to be the 9th) the turf on and around greens are desperately thirsty. A lot of bare spots even after aeration July 8th. While the top of hills will always be difficult to retain grass this time of year, the course that used to be top dog in the East valley has unfortunately become a track best referred to as unkept. I’m sentimental about this place and while I’m rooting for a comeback, they’ve been in this mode for better half of the last decade.

We’re thrilled to share that starting Monday, August 4th, we’ll begin a Tee Box Leveling & Resodding Project to enhance your playing experience across the course!
While we’re making these improvements, all 18 holes will remain open, but you may notice tee markers moved forward or back from their usual spots.
We appreciate your support and patience as we continue to invest in the course — these upgrades will help keep it in top shape for seasons to come!
See you on the tee!

Dear valued golfer,
Thank you for your feedback about your recent visit. We had a beverage cart and player assistant on duty during the holiday. The monsoon and one inch of rain on Friday caused debris to collect in our ponds, which we’re actively cleaning up, as is our standard practice.
We value your input and look forward to providing a better experience on your next visit.
