South at Antelope Hills Golf Course
About
The South Course is a links style track, giving Prescott the distinction of having what Veach calls "an almost British Open feel" course in the middle of the desert. It offers views of the towering mountains that help provide Prescott with its temperate temperatures from several holes.

Honestly, I played a few local courses along with some in the Phoenix area, and I would say this is hands-down in the best condition of any of them I highly recommend to play this which I normally wouldn’t give a secret off like this, but some of the courses i’ve played. Locally are horrible. Try watering the grass. It may keep it green.
Just what u expect from an average public course!
Many sporadic areas with poor grass growth and or under repair i.e. hole 17 is a disaster with very poor inconsistent grass 10-15 yards before the gully and bridge so many times a perfect layup leaves you in poor lie poor grass....that should not be the case on a perfectly placed layup shot. Horrendous crusty sand bunkers...very little or no sand.
Rated a three star as above.
First bad Prescott experience.
Let me be blunt — this was supposed to be a great day of golf with my brother and friends after a 2-hour drive. Instead, it turned into the worst Prescott trip I’ve ever had because of one guy: Carson.
The course? Fine. The guys we got paired with? Super chill — even they thought the situation was ridiculous. But Carson? Full-blown power trip mode over nothing.
My brother just wanted to ride along, not even play. No crowd behind us, no rush in front of us. I even offered to walk. Still, Carson dug in like he was guarding the Masters. No flexibility, no common sense, just attitude. He had one goal: ruin the vibe. And he nailed it.
The other guys in our group were so put off they bailed after 9 holes. Can’t blame them.
What really sucks is that I used to love Prescott. The people, the atmosphere — way more grounded than Phoenix or Sedona. But after this? Total sour taste. I never want to come back. And honestly, I doubt they even care.
I’ll take my weekends and money to Sedona or literally anywhere else from now on. If you’re thinking of coming here with friends or family, think twice — unless you're into getting treated like a problem for wanting to enjoy a round.
Get away
The south course was in good condition.
The pace of play was great because l played by my self.
Great Place
I always enjoy playing at Antelope Hills. It’s hard enough but not too hard, and they do a nice job with the course conditions. Food is good and reasonably priced. No complaints.
Nearly Perfect
First time ever playing Antelope Hills South and it was a truly fantastic experience. The course was nearly perfect. Wide open but still very fun with plenty of different shots to hit. The greens were so nice I decided to putt 38 times.
The staff were amazing. I was particularly pleased with the diligent attention paid to our group by the ranger regarding our 4 hour pace of play. We were unaware this was not acceptable and so he gently encouraged us to speed it up and then escorted us for two holes, dutifully observing from behind his mirrored sunglasses like Boss Godfrey, to make sure we didn’t misunderstand him or get lost. A lesser ranger would have just stopped by, offered some useless pleasantry, asked if we were having fun or needed anything, or simply smiled and said nothing at all. We felt seen.
Really good players would eat this place alive, but for struggling mid-handicappers like us it was just right. I think we’ll try the North course next time, as I hear it’s a little more challenging, but it will be tough to drive all the way to Prescott and not play this one again.
Patience required
I played late April and it was very busy. Seasonal wind too but not so much as to spoil the round. Note that the club only allows players to ride in the cart. Something I didn’t see when booking so my wife could not accompany me. Overall a pleasant experience and value for money.
Nice open course
Course plays very open. Staff were very nice. The greens are unusually fast.
Decent course
Courses in decent condition. The greens are very fast. Very windy
Really fun track, off course needs work.
Really great round overall. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens were in great shape. The driving range and practice green seemed that of a 9 hole executive course, tiny and packed. Range was full. Putting green was extremely overcrowded with surface pins, no holes for practice cups. The staff was fairly dismissive I found myself asking a few questions to get out the door, the only information they really provided voluntarily was cart in by 5:30 which seems pushy with sunset at 6:15. The pace wasn’t seemingly regulated I almost didn’t finish my round due to that cart curfew, and the obnoxious 2 in front of me. Overall the (south) course itself is great, and I will be back to play again, however there is a lot of improvement to be made as far as functionality with their facilities.
