Las Colinas Golf Club
About
The golf course at Las Colinas Golf Club stretches over a gently, rolling landscape sprinkled with over 2000 cottonwoods as well as various other native grasses and plants. The greens are separated by ribbons of desert washes, where golfers sometimes catch glimpses of local wildlife. Although the golf course is not as demanding as other championship courses, the layout features an interesting variety of holes that requires precision from every club in the bag. The course offers a challenge for all skill levels with doglegs and lakes coming into play on some holes. Located in the growing community of Queen Creek, Las Colinas Golf Club has become a popular choice in the Valley.

Has been better
So , I have played here many times . This winter seems to have gotten the better of the course . Fairways are ok but if you get off the fairways it’s a mix of dormant grass and hard pan . Not consistent at all . Tee boxes are average at best . Some are very chopped up with little grass . Greens are ok , pretty quick esp above the hole . Bunkers have a good deal of sand and as long as it doesn’t plug they are good to play out of . Driving range is also very chopped up with sand filled grass . For $ 70 plus to play I expect more .
What happened?
I used to love this place, but wow is it mediocre right now. Every other course I've played in the Valley is in great shape, Las Colinas has super thin fairways, dead rough, and crab grass growing everywhere. The rate right now is $60-70, and they're overbooking the course with tee times every 7 minutes. Took almost 5 hours to play this course on a Friday afternoon. Look elsewhere, there are way better experiences out the for the money.
Interesting that we went to pay in cash & was told they had no cash to give us change & without hesitation, kept our change. That won't happen again
Las Colinas in January
Las Colinas is an enjoyable course that unfortunately needs some TLC. Staff were friendly on arrival and the course provided good value with friendly folks on course. Driving range was in rough shape and putting green had many bare spots. The greens on the course were quite fast especially if you were above the hole which meant approach shots needed to land short to roll close to the pin. Area golf courses have increased their prices significantly in the past year so do your shopping beforehand.
Interesting
Never have been on a course that wanted carts returned before sundown; it was 5:28 and we were in middle of 18th hole and staff removed the flag from the green. It wasn’t even 5:30 and seriously we couldn’t finish the hole? So very interesting that they did that…
Winner
