San Tan Highlands

My first time playing here, everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Playing about 3 weeks after opening from over seed....greens slow but very nice, fairways were perfect, rough was spotty.

I will play again.

Everything was great. The review field here is NOT great. A minimum number of words in order to submit make no sense. People will just choose to not review.

Felt rushed , they put a 2 party behind our 4 party, they were constantly on our tail till the 9th hole,

I'll start with, overall it was a great day to be playing golf. However, San Tan Highlands can do much better! The course was cart path only due to overseeding. That is to be expected this time of year. There was absolutely no mention when I booked the time and other than the 8 1/2 x 11 note on the desk upon check-in the pro shop said nothing about it. There was no starter. So at our time we headed to the first tee only to be asked a second time by another group what our time was. We said right now and teed off. They said their time was a half an hour earlier and they were still waiting to tee off. Fortunately, we were able to catch the two-some in front of us and combined with them and played the round in just over 4 hours. The two some behind us played by themselves even though there was another two-some behind them. They ended up waiting on us most of the day. Not sure if the course was short staffed or what but no starter and the course marshal appeared to just be driving around as I never saw him stop and talk with anyone. Oh and for the first six or seven holes there were these little black bugs all over us and our ball pretty much every shot.

Would be nice if players were given notice when booking that the range was closed and it was cart path only.

Love coming to San Tan. The front nine is good but nothing spectacular. BUT…get to the back nine and your transported to the desert. Great experience.

For locals who live in San Tan, I’m sure this is a good option. They’re just getting out of overseed. The grass is green but I’m not sure it’s really ready yet. Greens are fuzzy, wet, and slow. There is more slope on the tee boxes than most of the greens. The front nine is woefully boring. The back nine shines a lot more. But by the time you get there you just spent 2 hours on a boring golf course. No on course water refill. No beverage/snack cart. Outdated carts. It was cart path only but the carts would shut down on the path because they laid out the gps so tight to the path that the satellite can’t register where you are. Too much elevation change on the back to make walking worth it. There’s not a lot making this course worth the drive for anyone outside of San Tan. Staff was friendly.

Scalped short, dried out and brown as can be on all greens and fairways.

Upset and disappointed. San Tan Highlands back nine is what makes this course stand out. Imagine my and others' surprise when, due to planned annual maintenance (scalping greens/tees) for overseed, the back nine is closed and we would have to play the front nine twice. Booking online, there was no notice for planned maintenance work. - there should have been. The course knew, they planned it.

We live playing San Tan. Well maintained and each hole is a unique experience. Can’t wait to play again!

Carts are worn out, range balls are worn out, weeds all over the course, bunkers not maintained, dead spots in the fairways. Expensive for what you get. I would go elsewhere.
