Ranch at Tonto Verde Golf Club
About
The Ranch course at Tonto Verde Golf Club is the newer one, this golf course designed exclusively by Gary Panks, who laid it out over 6,988 yards, upon which it has played host to several golf events at the professional and amateur level since it opened in 2002.
The Ranch golf course at the Tonto Verde Golf Club serves power golfers due to the distance, though it will certainly test those who golf a good short, thanks to big greens that are bunkered well and slope, too.
The Tonto Verde Golf Club offers stay-and-play packages for those who don't want to lodge themselves too far from the Peaks and Rancho golf courses. Pets are generally welcome, and the minimum stay is only three nights.

Enjoyed our round
Thoroughly enjoyed the round. Greens were a bit bumpy but overall we thought the course was in fine shape. Will return again,.
Staff were rude and smart mouths
In pro shop asked how much one of the hats cost.
He retorted with "Doesn't it have a tag" Like I was stupid.
When I went out to get my cart to play the service person asked me " Do I know where I am going?? This is first time I played this course so I said "no". He said " do I know what I m doing. Like I was lost or inferring I has a problem. The starter was very nice and informative.
No beverage cart
The course was fun for my wife and I. Very green and wide open fairways. My one complaint is that the Beverage cart is independently opperated and does not run over the summer. You can bring your own beverages and cooler. They have ice machines throughout the course.
A must play
the course was in excellent condition, fairways were good and the greens fast and true. the views of the surrounding area and mountains was terrific. it was our first time playing the course and it will not be the last. there was no beverage cart on the course so make sure to take plenty of water with you or buy it before you head out. the course provides the ice and cooler.
Great course!
Beautiful course to play. The course is in great shape for June. Greens were soft and receptive. Fairways were in good shape with only a few spots that were burnt. Only gave an average on food and beverage because they didn't have a beverage cart running. I think that will be the case most of the summer. We did find out about this in advance and we were allowed to bring our own water and gatorade. This is the best course I have played this summer. Will be going back soon!
Great Day on a Great Course
Wife and I truly enjoyed all that was offered on the course as we played here for 1st time .excellent food and drink after round. We will come back soon. Nice day
beautiful course
We had a great time on your course. Hoping to play again in the future. The overall beauty of the course was wonderful. Has a good feeling for the senses!
fun time
the good-course conditions and pace of play.
the Bad- no beverage service on the course or course guide - yardage card or time placements. Because this is semi private the public play doesn't mean as much to them i guess I guess explains the lack of information on the course layout.
Greens the best
I play both ranch and peaks on sundays, getting the early tee time to get ahead of any hot weather. The greens for both courses rate up there with some of the best valley courses. Very firm but true. Putting improves everytime on this course
Amazing views
This course is one of my favorites! Way out of the Valley, but the views of Four Peaks and the desert are amazing. Both courses are gorgeous and very fair.
Superb Course
Played the Ranch Course. It was in beautiful condition, great fun and presented some real challenges.
Hardly anyone out playing so it was almost like playing on your own private course.
Will be back next time we come to Arizona to play it again. Thank you Tonto Verde for providing such superb facilities.
Excellent condition, great views
We played the Ranch course which is maintained in excellent condition. Slightly wider fairways, always good lies. Greens and tee boxes in great shape. Staff is very friendly on course and clubhouse - food is fantastic. Had a blast and will be coming back.
great course
Overall excellent condition of greens and fairways and I played late in the day and no ball marks.
It Eats Me Up But I Love It
I've played this course three times over the past three years. I just love it although it eats me up. A lot of washes to cross and a lot of sand traps strategically placed, but somehow being out in the desert with not a lot around just calls to me. When I par a hole, as a seldom do, it feels like a real accomplishment, especially when it is the Par 4 13th with bunkers totally surrounding and in front of the green.
Good amenities
Good warm up practice facilities and staff was very friendly and helpful. Pace of play was good. A 4 hour round.
Perfect day spoiled
A perfect day with friends behind a fivesome that took forever over every shot and were oblivious to the fact they were holding up the course. A 4:15 round turned into a 4:55 round!
A very nice course, great company, perfect weather spoiled.
Great course in great shape
Beautiful desert course in excellent shape. Interesting holes with very fast greens
Great course
We really enjoyed playing the course however we are not impressed when we have to play behind a group,of 5 members. Even though there was no one in front of them, they never offered for us to play through. All courses that allow groups of 5 out should ensure they advertise this because we would not have chosen this course for that reason.
Like a desert fairy tale complete with a lurking troll.
We went as 4 couples and played early Sunday morning. This was our 1st time playing there.
Just a beautiful place, or so it seemed. The round started with the men in the forward group and our wives behind. They kept up pretty well. There was no one in front of us. The course was stunningly beautiful with the desert foliage and bird life truly shimmering. The course was not easy for never having seen the course.
Then he appeared! A Marshal who was completely rude in his diatribe about "you're way behind, so pick it up!" Then he proceeded to harass our wives with inappropriate comments about the positioning of 2 wheels of their rickety carts. Fact was we were not way behind. At the turn we were 5 minutes behind their pace clock and we finished 20 minutes in front of the clock. He ruined a perfect golf round. We will never go back to this quasi private old folks retirement complex who want your money but not really. Let us know when that Marshall gets replaced. His ambassador skills stink and reflect poorly on the entire complex.
Pretty Course
Course was in great condition. Just had to wait on a few holes.
