Ranch at Tonto Verde Golf Club
About
The Ranch course at Tonto Verde Golf Club is the newer one, this golf course designed exclusively by Gary Panks, who laid it out over 6,988 yards, upon which it has played host to several golf events at the professional and amateur level since it opened in 2002.
The Ranch golf course at the Tonto Verde Golf Club serves power golfers due to the distance, though it will certainly test those who golf a good short, thanks to big greens that are bunkered well and slope, too.
The Tonto Verde Golf Club offers stay-and-play packages for those who don't want to lodge themselves too far from the Peaks and Rancho golf courses. Pets are generally welcome, and the minimum stay is only three nights.

Tonto Verde rocks!
Great golf course and facilities. I could live here. Fairways & greens were the best we have played on, in the Scottsdale area, all month.
Good choice at discounted price
Pretty good trak. Very good greens-fast with subtle breaks...but not as much as might be read. Some interesting holes. Good par 3s and last par 5 is very good.
Bag boys leave something to be desired. Busy day so no carts available at check in or to get to the practice range (although the range is close). One of the greeters (wearing a bow tie) was great. Others indifferent. Got my cart 6 minutes before tee time. Starter was a good guy, too.
Front 9 fair in terms of layout. Back 9 better. Paid $59 on golfnow--well worth the price. Full fare...wouldn't have been a value. Bunkers are rock hard. All in all a decent course otherwise. Got windy, showery and cold mid-way through the round but since Mother Nature is probably not a member-that couldn't be helped.
Calgary Golfer
Perfect day. Played tips 7000 yds.
No GPS, club or ball washers on carts. Gas carts.
OK practice facilities.
Great grass conditions. Fast greens. One of the best courses here.
Worth playing.
Tonte Verde Golf Course Review
First of all I found out that the highly recommended Tonto Verde Golf Course Restaurant was closed on Monday. A couple that I met came to Tonto Verde specifically to eat at the restaurant for British Columbia, Canada and were greatly disappointed. I had not eaten myself and expected to also eat at the restaurant and was also turned away. All they had was a hotdog cart by the driving range. The lady at the hotdog cart was very courteous and treated quite well. The Tonto Verde Golf Course ran out of golf carts and some golfers had to wait for golfers to finish until they could start their tee time reserved golf rounds. Play was quite slow, with sometimes 4 groups on one hole. No marshal was ever noted on the course. I was asked by the golf coordinator two to stay away from the starter and first tee as it in his opinion would bother the golfers teeing off. He was quite rude. The course was in moderate to fair shape. I would not recommend going to this golf course. From Phoenix/Scottsdale there are many golf courses for less money and much more fun to play. Golfers beware!!!!!!
Very nice course
The course was in very nice condition and the round started at 2:12 and ended at 6:30...just as the sun set. You get all the range balls you want with a very noice chipping area that includes a sand trap. The twilight rate makes it a great deal.
Treated like a member
Very enjoyable round. Very busy two courses with the membership but I received a great reception from all the staff as a Golfnow user. Notables were; excellent greens, good pace of play (never waited during 4 1/4 hour round and no one waited on us), the putting course looked like it would be worth a try and the drive from Scottsdale was not bad.
Great Course, Great Condition
Super course, fairways were in great condition, greens were even better. There are homes along the course edges but rarely a concern for even a bogey golfer like me. Staff was friendly and clubhouse food was tasty.
Interesting shotmaker's course in golfcentric setting
One of two 18-hole courses at Tonto Verde, the Peaks Course has plenty of interesting holes in terrific condition. At times, fairways are a little tight and the homes can come into play, but by and large, it's a fair layout with plenty of opportunity to score if you manage your game well. The club also features a large clubhouse with a very good restaurant, but even more impressive is the putting course, which members as well as guest take full advantage of.
Great day at the Ranch course.
Played the Ranch course at Tonto Verde for the first time and will definitely be coming back.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Course conditions were excellent. Practice facilities were great.
Only complaint was the lack of hole graphics or yardage books to help you understand the hole layout and distance to hazards. Possibly they had them and we missed picking one up.
Great course and facility.
All round excellent experience
This is a private club that allows some public play. Overall quality and value is tremendous through Golf Now. Staff are fantastic and both golf courses offer challenge and very good fairways and greens. The experience here is excellent and we keep coming back.
Nice course!
Reasonable price. Friendly staff. Good pace. Beautiful course! I'm looking forward to playing this course again!
Love this course
We always enjoy playing Tonto Verde. The staff is very friendly to Golf Now patrons even though this is a mostly private course. We love the vistas and layout of the courses. The Ranch is our favorite. We were placed with two friendly and cordial gentlemen from Canada and thoroughly enjoyed our round.
Great Course at the right level of challenge
First time playing the course was a very pleasant experience. Excellent driving range and practice green with friendly staff. Holes are unique from one another and long enough. I plan on playing again.
Second Time Around...
It was disappointing not to have a photo of the holes on the score card...there were numerous times we could not see where to go. There were a lot of carry's that you could not see from the tee box and did not know how far the "desert gully" was.
Will not play again.
Very nice facility
Accurate drives are required. Course conditions were excellent. Enjoyed the round.
Beautiful in every way!
First time at the course and was very impressed. They had an 8:30 shotgun and a 1 o'clock shotgun. Very organized, things went smoothly. Practice area is amazing. They have an 18 hole putting green, very impressive. Overall, tighter landing areas off the tee but fair. Greens were in perfect shape. Extremely well maintained. Plays true to yardage on the par 3's. Will definitely come back!
Great conditions
Teed off at 9 am. Finished in 3 hours and 15 minutes with a friend. Course was in immaculate condition. Greens were pretty fast and true. Great day!. To play acourse this nice in January for the price we paid, around $100.00 was areal bargain.
Course was in great condition
Haven't played Tonto Verde in quite a while. Forgot how interesting and beautiful the course and its surroundings are. Fairways and greens were in incredible shape. Absolutely the best value in the Valley!
