El Conquistador Golf & Tennis - Conquistador Course

I absolutely love this course!!! It was a perfect day and the pace of play was perfect. The driving range was well maintained and ready to go bright and early as I was the first tee time of the day. The fairway and greens were basically in perfect condition! I could go broke very soon as I want to golf here every weekend! Not only was the golf awesome, the staff in the kitchen and bar were amazing and the manager Amelia even checked on us often and asked us how the food and service was. I will definitely be back and will be bringing some friends!

The greens were not playable, they we being treated and sand was covering them. They have 2 18 hole courses and this one should have been closed or at a discount with advance notice.

they have 2 18 hole courses, this one had sanded greens. these sanded green were unplayable, so your score will be scatched once on the green. I can not play a round that has to have an asterisk noting the greens on it. I want to play with a course in playable condition.

please note this not there normal condition that they were treating the greens and soon they will be playable. but I should have been warned, since I drove 100 miles to play it.

Teed off 20 min late. Course is SHORT and slightly narrow. Greens are VERY slow. This course is definitely perfect for those 50 and older. Does have some character to it which is the only thing that made it enjoyable. Course layout is horrible, the architect should've just designed it from clubhouse to hotel that would've been convenient. Nothing here that makes you want to come back if you're just visiting like I was.

Greens were like an 8 on the stimp.

I am guessing they don't cut greens on the weekend.

I will give this course another try, and hope the greens are cut.

Enjoyed my time at El Conquistador....I was a single that was booked with 2 others. When I arrived, they had sent that group with another 2. Was told I might have to play alone, which is no fun. Ended up with another couple who knew the course well....made it more enjoyable. Greens were in great shape, a little slow, but not bad at all....3 of the 4 par 3's measured more than 170yds which provided a bit of a challenge. Would certainly play again.

This course was in fair condition but some of the holes on this course are just gimmicky. I hit a perfect drive on one hole and it rolled into the rough because of the drastic slope in the fairway. Pace of play was slow and they had no marshals. Group in front of us were playing the back tees and they were all over the place. Some of them couldn't hit the ball 150 yards. I shot a good score but it was a frustrating round of golf.

The course was fun and fair. The course was in great condition. We enjoyed the property and everything was first class.

Plenty of tee choices, greens were bumped and slow.

At first glance, it seems that this is a classy, well run course-until you actually get to the first tee. Our first impression of how things were going to be was when the starter gave us instructions as to the layout of the course-the course doesn't bring you back to the clubhouse after 9 holes. No snack bar anywhere- and no beverage cart. Water was not provided at the start and there were only a few water coolers on the course. Good thing we brought enough water and snacks with us! Not once did we see any course host/marshall during our round. Directions to the next hole were poor or non- existent-very frustrating! The club could spend a little and put up signs instead of painting (faded) little arrows to the next tee. And the greens were awful -long and bumpy. The views were very nice, so if that's really important to you, go for a nice hike instead.

Free range balls is always a plus, though you are hitting off of a mat. Nice putting green and separate chipping area. The course was in good condition and the only complaint would be shaggy greens, which made them pretty slow. Very enjoyable day and I will go back and play.

The course was in great shape: greens especially, as well as fairways and bunkers (they actually had sand in them! A rarity on many public courses in the midwest where I normally play.) Best of all we finished in 3 1/2 hours!!! I felt like this was a good value for snowbird golf season in Tucson.

The course played well with plenty of challenge.

The greens were overall in good condition but ran a little slow for the level of course. the course played with a lot of up and down the mountain sides making it fun and giving a few blind shots to work with.
