The Views Golf Club at Oro Valley
About
The Views Golf Club at Oro Valley in Tucson is so named for its stunning vistas provided by the nearby Catalina Mountains. The desert-inspired layout features a rolling terrain that blends in seamlessly with the natural surroundings. Trees dot the golf course and there is also an abundance of native cacti throughout. Designed by Greg Nash, the layout features large, rolling greens that are subtly elevated. The front nine meanders through dry washes and arroyos while the back nine snakes upwards to higher grounds. The back nine is more challenging than the front with more elevated tee shots and sharp doglegs. There is a small lake that comes into play and several strategically placed bunkers throughout. The Views Golf Club at Oro Valley also features a driving range and short-game practice area.

Interesting course....great views.
Lots of different holes and some of the best mountain views in the Tucson area. The course is in very good shape with the exception of several holes that weren't overseeded. However, there was still enough dormant grass in most places to allow you to get your club under the ball. The tee boxes are always in great condition.
this course offers nice mountain views
good pace of play. Nice site. people very friendly
Great design, conditions and views
This course is beautifully maintained and the staff is friendly. There are four fairways that were not over seeded this year. As i understand it this will help improve the course conditions in the long run. Although these holes were not as pretty as the over seeded holes, they played very well. In fact, the roll was better than over seeded holes so our drives were typically longer. I plan on playing here more often.
This is a fair yet challenging course!
Fairways are wide enough for the average golfer. Greens are tricky, a lot of subtle breaks. Green side grass bunkers are tough! A fun course to play!
Nice Views, I guess that's why it's called the Views
Nice layout, Good Greens, however the fairways were overseeded on every other hole. Very Strange!
Some good holes, some bad holes
Friendly staff, reasonably priced range balls. Half a dozen holes have not been overseeded and were really bad. The rest were pretty good. Greens were mediocre. The day I played they had a shotgun start at 11:30. People in front of us finally gave up it was so slow. Took just over 5 hours to play.
Greens were great. Very challenging
This course has something for everyone. It has some longer holes for the big hitter yet you need to think your way around the course. I played with 2 members of the course and they were very friendly and helpful. The greens were in very good shape.
The name of the course is very appropriate!
An "experiment" they told us...
The greens were good, smooth and a challenge to read. BUT, on four of the par 4's there was zero grass from tee to green. It was all "dormant" (dead) grass which was cut to the dirt practically. After the round (and paying nearly sixty bucks to play there) we were upset and complained as politely as we could to the pro shop. He was dismissive and said it was an experiment and all the local courses had this going on. Funny thing is that we had played at another nearby course 4 days prior and they had grass on all the holes...hmmm. Anyway. Buyer beware. The shop staff gave us a lecture on the hazards of the course before we paid, leaving out the part about NO GRASS on four Par 4s. Jerk move.
Overpriced for conditions
Played at the end of January and enjoyed the course overall; a bad day golfing still beats a good day working, but was very disappointed to find 4 fairways unseeded and dormant. This made strategy very difficult from the tee as local knowledge is a premium at this course and with no clearly delineated fairway, targeting was not easy. Ball played very differently from these dormant fairways, and it would have been nice to know about before heading out. The starter was very friendly before round, but the pro shop attendant I spoke to about the fairways after was dismissive. Greens ran great, but take your time reading them.
This course has some spectacular views
Course is in very good condition and the course handout about how to play the course if you've never been on it is very helpful. Enjoyable experience all around from the Pro-shop to being paired with compatible partners, to the course itself. Will be playing it again very soon!
Difficult, Somewhat Overpriced
OK Value if you catch the lowest fees, not higher. 3 fairways are not reseeded and are short, dormant bermuda.
Several very elevated, steep greens. Practice your short
lobs out of dry bermuda. Still, one of the better courses in Tucson, but drive a little, save a lot at The Preserve
or Saddlebrooke Ranch.

Beautiful weather for Jan. Front nine slow due to foursomes, cruised on back nine due to later in day and some foursomes played only nine. Nice layout, some elevated holes, gentle dog legs. A couple of fairways were browned out, greens in good shape, have quite a bit of slope which can make putting challenging. Nice condition for winter compared to some of the courses close by.
Solid course, good value!
Course was in GREAT shape! My only beef was we didn't see the cart till the 18th green. Course knowledge can save you 5 strokes easily. The info pamphlet they give you is a reasonable attempt to help out but still tough to figure out.
Nice course, beautiful setting and views
Nice layout, beautiful views, pleasant part of town. Condition of course very nice with interesting and varied holes.
Note: shotgun start for public players.
Nice layout and multiple tee boxes offered for all skill levels
Great views of the Catalina Mountains and the course is in great shape. Choosing the correct set of tees can make the course plenty of a challenge.
Very helpful Staff
The staff was very helpful for our first time at this course. Giving directions and a mini yardage book to help us out. there are some tricky holes if you have not played there before.
Course was very well maintained. Greens can be tricky and somewhat hard to hold.
We played on a very windy day.
There are 18 good holes at The Views
The greens and fairways were in good shape. The views were as advertised. We will definitely bring friends to play here.
beautiful but sneaky
My wife and I have played this course many times. It always surprises us how difficult it is to score here. The course is in great shape. The "views" are wonderful. The greens are challenging. It is worth the money.
Well maintained with friendly staff. Water available on every other hole and ice available strategically located on each nine
Difficult but fair. Wide open fairways and elevated greens. Plenty of tees for every level of play.
This course has nice views and is in a peaceful setting.
This was my first time at the Views. Golf shop staff was very professional and friendly. The course winds through a nice residential neighborhood, and the houses are set back enough that they aren't bothersome. Tee boxes are flat. Great variety of golf holes, including a few short par 4's and a par five that I reached in two with driver / three wood. Nice variety in par 3's. Fairway bunkers and well-bunkered greens. Moderate size greens were in excellent shape... fast w/ subtle breaks. Some of the fairways looked dormant, but most were beautiful and lush. Looking forward to playing here again.
