About
MountainView Golf Club at Saddlebrooke sits at an elevation of 3,200 feet, offering both dramatic elevation changes and spectacular views. The course sits at the base of the Catalina Mountain range near Tucson, nestled into the mesquite-covered foothills. Gary Panks, the golf course's designer, saw the potential of the landscape and utilized the many natural hazards. He also incorporated subtle mounding and strategically placed bunkers that blend seamlessly into the natural terrain. Panks created a fair challenge with this layout but the wide, player-friendly landing areas makes the golf course approachable for beginners. The second hole is one of the most scenic holes on the course but it is also one of the layout's more difficult holes. Golfers will find a mesquite-filled wash crossing the fairway before facing an uphill shot to a green guarded by trees and bunkers.

Great track!
Very good course. Excellent condition. Very fair. Greens rolled almost perfect. Would play again.
New favorite!
So happy I played Mountainview! Easily a new favorite. Even though the weather was less than ideal which caused the views to be less than I'd hoped, can't fault anyone other than Mother Nature for that. Course was in great condition, staff was super friendly, and I have zero to complain about. Will absolutely be back!
Again, always a value
Good condition even though getting ready to oversees. Better than most in Tucson. Plus the bunkers here are actually sand traps! Always. Good value. Good pro shop, great deals on shirts. Friendly staff, not like some other “retirement” community courses. Like to mix up the tee boxes, makes the layout a real challenge. And, a starter that actually sees what groups he has, skill level, etc and moves to make it enjoyable for all. Great value.
Course in rough shape
The fairways were in rough shape, they over seeded the fairways and haven’t had much water. Besides the large bare spots, many parts of the fairways were soaked with cart ruts. Greens and bunkers were good. Heard Preserve is in better shape so would play there instead.

Staff was outstanding, course was in great shape from Tees to greens. Only thing that surprised me was pay for range balls, no water jugs on course & no GPS on carts. For a very nice course those 3 items are normally included.
I'm hour & ten min for me, so probably will not go back. If you live closer, give it a try for yourself. Very impressed with all of staff, they all were very friendly.
Water stations on #6, at the Clubhouse and again on #13. Including range balls would raise the price. I'll pay to keep my green fee down.
Not closed as shown on Google
Google shows this course as "Temporarily Closed". Not true. Played on April 10th. Course is in excellent shape. Tee boxes are immaculate and flat. Fairways are tailored nicely. Pace of play is great. Played in 3 1/2 hours. First time playing this course and would play it again. The staff and starter were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this course.
Hidden gem
Course was in immaculate condition and only 93 bucks! So many courses should take a tour and learn how to take care of their courses like this one. Take the trip to Tuscon and play, you will not regret. 5 star.......
Fun course
Greens were fast and fair. Bogey on first 3 holes with 3 putts on all 3 greens but shot even 72. I thought course was good shape and worth playing. I definitely would play there again
Great Course
Would have loved to play the course where they let us off the cart paths. Course had a little bit of rain the night before and the superintendent was so conservative wouldn’t let us on the course but driving you had no water and it was perfect so I don’t understand why he didn’t let us on the course. But the layout was fantastic and the course was in great shape.

Thanks for playing! We dislike Cart Path Only as much as you do! The new irrigation and drainage system that we added in 2023 has really done well! The rain last week amounted to almost 3/4 of an inch between the two storms. Yes, we see why you thought it was being conservative. We like to think that we are trying to provide the same great conditions every day. Sometimes, we do have to be conservative after it rains. We hope to see you again soon!
Great Course
Good overall condition and great layout. Very fair off the tee and they designed it perfectly throughout the community.
Mountain View
Great course and nice layout. Plenty’s of tees to choose from. Played with a couple of members that were very friendly. Under a 4 hour round which is rare in Arizona!
Great afternoon of golf
Our 12:20 teetime was perfect. Only one other golfer encountered, mild temps, beautiful course conditions. Loved it!
A Nice Course to Play
We like this course, but we don't get to play it very often. Nice layout and it always seems to be in good shape. We like to walk when we play, but would not advise it at this course. Looking forward to our next round there.

Less than 1 inch of rain over the last 18 months doesnt help coming OUT of overseed. Have to keep the Bermuda wet! Not sure where you saw the "cart ruts". Staff talked about 2, 3, 10 and 16 being Cart Path Only. Course was in awesome shape otherwise.
