First try, 5 star experience
Club house was relaxed. Starter was friendly. People on the course were easy going. Pace of play was immaculate and the greens and fairways were in great shape.
I would call this a 5/5 and my only detraction would be sand traps are not always in perfect shape, but that is to be expected in any Tucson course, let alone a public one. If you are on the fence I say come play it.
Wonderful course
This is a wonderful course! Excellent staff, amazing fairways. Definitely a challenging course for an average person but worth it.
Very peaceful course
Gem
Beautiful, tucked away course. Our group plays an evening round some place new twice a month while the rates are reduced for summer. Though it’s a bit more expensive than most, it will be a staple going forward. Brenda in the shop was great and starter/marshall/host Henry was knowledgeable and very friendly (despite us making him late for dinner).
beautiful Troon course
The preserve is one of two Troon courses at SaddleBrooke HOA2 (the other is Mountainview). The course is in great condition. The only negative is that some of the sand traps are less than great but that is due to the need for them to be rebuilt. given their age they play fine. The Fairways, tees, and Greens are in great condition. The course is beautiful against the mountains and is somewhat challenging so high handicap golfers will be challenged. There is also a very nice restaurant there that is open tues-Sunday. Overall one of the nicest courses in Tucson.
Outstanding conditions
Been playing here off and on for over 10 years. The course today was in better condition than I've ever seen it. Huge improvement over prior years. Will definitely be back soon.
HIghly Recommend
Come early because it takes a while to check in. We use to live near the course and played it a lot but now are members of two high end country clubs. Decided to try it just for the sake of doing something different. There is a lot of variety in the layout. Greens and fairways were in good shape. The traps are terrible. Rocky and uneven. I would not use my clubs in them. Our course is being aerated soon and I'm going to play back at the SaddleBrooke Preserve those days.
Beautiful Course
This is a beautiful course set in the foothills of the Catalina mountains. Very accessible to all golfers, but some of the holes have “local knowledge” blind shots. Bunkers are in poor condition with very little hard packed course sand. Fairways and greens are in excellent shape. Definitely worth a round.
Facilities are nice
Course is decent, well designed. Pace of play was RIDICULOUS! The 4-some in front of us had ZERO players in front of them and yet the Marshall wouldn’t speed them up — nor would these self absorbed folks from CO even consider letting the 2 of us play through. I’ve golfed for over 50 years and I’ve never experienced the lack of consideration from painfully slow players. ‘Twas disappointing to say the least.
Pace of play and staff friendliness were excellent!
Views on course are amazing. And layout fun /iinterestiing. Very challenging course!
Gas golf carts very loud and clunky. Course needs better signage and yardage information
Like 200 yards from here is a ravine. quite a few blind shots!
Fun day…. We will be back!
Triple Digits
Call me cheap (you wouldn't be the first) or simply unrealistic about the cost of AZ golf in 2025, but I can't endorse $100 green fees for The Preserve (don't even mention Mountainview!) at SaddleBrooke. It's a very good golf course, still in decent condition, but triple digits is a stretch. And at that price, you shouldn't have to pay extra for range balls. Pays to be a SB resident, for sure.
Great Course
What a gem.
The starter was great (and he encouraged us about our good pace-of-play.
This players obviously hasnt been around The Preserve in quite awhile. Too bad GolfNow allows anyone to post inaccurate "reviews".
