Nice layout and decent conditions
The course is fun to play. The course is starting to take shape. The green are pretty quick. The t boxes need work but mostly it’s good
Great course out in the country!
Great course for winter golf! In decent condition, gives you a good test of your game without beating you up to terribly. Budget friendly as well!!
Rough
First time playing this course and if you live close by and don’t mind being beat to death from the rough cart ride go for it. The course is not marked very well and you can drive past your tee boxes and miss them. It has an interesting layout and some holes are tight. For me it’s not worth the hour drive.
Interesting course that will be better with a few improvements
The course has a great design. The green are pretty good. The t boxes need work. I always enjoy playing here. It was very slow this time around but mostly because some people don’t know about pace of play and keeping up with the group ahead.
This course has a great layout.
Course was in really good shape for time of the year. The layout was excellent considering it was in a rural setting. Can't wait to go back when the grass is green all over when spring is here.
It’s Winter Golf - Dogwood Lakes
Great staff and owner. Met and spoke with owner about future improvement plans. Lots to do with a very small staff. Improvements will come slowly. A number improvements already made. Takes time and resources.
Most greens in nice shape. A couple spotty yet still very payable. Most good size. Most greens approach areas in good shape. A couple of holes need directional signage from green to next hole.
Not much grass in fairways. However, it’s winter golf. Interested to play it in late spring through summer. Fairway edges are well maintained into wooded areas.
Most Tee boxes in good shape. A few need some help. Tee box / Hole signage very nice. However, they provide a very nice course color map and hole description brochure in addition to scorecard. Nice job. A lot of dog leg holes. Par 5s are long. Several narrow tree lined holes off of tee box. This course has a decent degree of technically too it. Once many of the intended improvements are made that technically will make it a very nice round of golf.
Carts are gas. Old. However mine performed very well. No issues.
Cart paths are mostly and intentionally sand / dirt. Seems they work to keep them built up and smooth. Some limited concrete / asphalt in common sense areas. Didn’t impact play. Was kind of fun in an “off-roading” way. More pavement planned in future.
They had a few small sand bunkers. Mostly green side. Some fairway. Looked nice. Sand was not very deep. Firm to play out of.
Didn’t eat at grill. Several people were eating. Menu seemed pretty broad.
So, likely good food.
I’ll play course again. Want to see the increasing improvements.
Fun course in great condition
Played on a Friday afternoon. Not too busy, probably due to the cool weather. We had low expectations based on the very reasonable green fee and location, but this was the best experience we had during our time in the area. We played as a twosome in 2:45. Course conditions were so much better than the courses we played in Panama City. A few of the tee boxes could use some work, fairways were good, and greens were very nice. Stopped in for a beer after our round and met some locals as well as the owner. We had a great day and will definitely be back the next time we are in the area.
Tee Time
Just be careful the tee time on Golfnow is not the same tee time on golf corse. Call golf corse for make sure of your tee time
Great course, fantastic owners
Had pleasure of meeting owners Brandon and Tanya. They have put in a lot of work to make this a truly enjoyable course and golf experience. Very interesting course layout, winding through wooded areas, with elevation changes. Good conditions, and fast smooth greens. Have already booked another round, and look forward to more while I am in the area.
Hidden Gem
New owners definitely care and are putting money into this track.. greens roll pure and fairways getting better with each trip up. Definitely worth the money and the layout is a blast
Fun layout
Nice course - fun layout with elevation changes and gentle dog legs so distance control is key. Fairways need a little work but greens good and the staff was wonderful. Feels like a dated but was really fun to play. Will be back
