About
The Lago Vista Course is Lago Vista resort’s original track, designed by Leon Howard in the late 1960s and renovated by Dave Bennett in 1992. The golf course has four water holes, more than 40 bunkers, and dramatic elevation changes of up to 100 feet. Lago Vista is known for its demanding par 3s, which all go right at 200 yards. No. 10 is fun because it can be reached in two: a 495-yard par 5 with a creek that looms right.
Getting to Lago Vista: From Austin, take Hwy. 183 north to FM 1431, then turn west 11 miles. When you come to Lohmas Ford Rd. turn left and drive 3 miles, then turn right on Boggy Ford R. Veer to the right and follow the signs to the golf course.

Nice views, good layout
I hadn't played this course in about 8 years, but it was nice to come back. The course has some nice views of Lake Travis, the fairways are wide, but there are a few holes with blind shots to get in proper position. A few of the greens need some work as there were bare spots. But I Would come back again, it was worth the 50 minute drive from Steiner Ranch.

Great times at Lago Vista
I've played here 5 times since July and I really enjoy this course. There are some great elevation changes on a few of the holes, and considering how many rounds have been played during Covid, the greens were in good shape and rolling well.
The back nine is definitely more challenging than the front, but that's not to say the front is easy. You should be able to hit most if not all of the clubs in your bag which is the sign of good design. Overall, the layout is fun and challenging, the views are very picturesque, and the staff has always been very friendly and helpful. I will be back for more rounds!

Good Value
Good value, fun to,play, enjoyed it. This course used to be Country Club conditions but they let it go. Coming back but it takes time to over come years of low budget maintenance. They repaired three greens which were in terrible shape. Much improved these greens. Little local knowledge to play your best. Just sit back and enjoy the round. Nice scenic views on some holes. Worth the price.

No amenities
Terrible outing. No food, no cart girls, no drinks, course was in rough shape and we were very disappointed in all aspects of the course. Put some water out for petes sake.

Scenic course and very reasonable rates. Staff member at the counter was friendly. Cart paths are a bit worn and the greens were a little browned out in spots. Greens were small, rather dry and slow, but the pin placement seemed to miss most of the patchiness. Great up and down changes of elevation throughout the course and most of the fairways were wide open and spacious.

Great Value
This views from this course are fantastic. At this price point there WILL be a lot of new beginner players. Don’t come out expecting a quick game. This is a pretty laid back course, wide fairways and slowish greens. Staff are super friendly, manager Chris is fantastic.

Course Much Improved
I played it early May and the greens condition was very poor. They are much improved since then. The fairways and tee boxes were trimmed/ mowed nicely. I will now put the course back in my rotation.

Lack of maintence
I was so excited to play here again 5 years later. My last experience they had well maintained greens, delicious food. Now they offer hotdogs and awful greens. I really hope they use this season to get the course up to par.

Beautiful, yet challenging
The front nine was a bit pedestrian while the back 9 was a blast (per hubby). It was a great value for the money. After playing another local course, we found this to be in great shape! I am a beginner, but really loved the challenge. We will definitely return to play another round!

Could be so much better
great layout, stunning views, when you compare course conditions to other public courses in the area, Lighthouse, Delaware, Legends Lago Vista is sadly well below those standards.
Will try again now that they have the 3 greens reopened and we got some rain
