About
The Lago Vista Course is Lago Vista resort’s original track, designed by Leon Howard in the late 1960s and renovated by Dave Bennett in 1992. The golf course has four water holes, more than 40 bunkers, and dramatic elevation changes of up to 100 feet. Lago Vista is known for its demanding par 3s, which all go right at 200 yards. No. 10 is fun because it can be reached in two: a 495-yard par 5 with a creek that looms right.
Getting to Lago Vista: From Austin, take Hwy. 183 north to FM 1431, then turn west 11 miles. When you come to Lohmas Ford Rd. turn left and drive 3 miles, then turn right on Boggy Ford R. Veer to the right and follow the signs to the golf course.

Good course
Lago is a good course. They are redoing greens which messes up certain yardage apps. They have also let the old greens go while working in the new ones so they aren’t the best.

Disappointing
The course is generally in poor condition. We played on 19-July-2020. In addition, there are three consecutive greens under repair, so there are currently three consecutive temporary greens! I understand the need for maintenance, but no forewarning at the pro shop. I suggest you check before you play.

The check in guy "sorry. We are like McDonald's without any burgers right now". No carts, no range ball, 3 temp greens, and no grass in the fairways. Waited an hour after our tee time for carts.
Was not worth the drive or money. Great layout and potential. Horrible conditions and management.

Not great, but playable
Ground is like concrete. Very hard to hit off of. Holes 5-7 I would recommend just skipping because the greens are under construction, kind of a joke. It’s playable, but I’d rather pay for a course that actually has soft ground and all 18 holes with real greens. Was a bit disappointed.

a picturesque, challenging course
Greens are fast, the rough is rough, and Obi is gone forever. But if you are even moderately accurate, you’ll have a great day out here

Great track
Great track. Yet. 3 greens were under repair and had temp greens setup. No clubhouse amenities. No food or snacks available. No beer!

First Time @LVGC
Tee off time @8am, pleasant day for 18-holes of golf. Marshall told us about 3-temporary greens. Course was generally in great condition except the temporary greens. For a beginner golfers it is a challenge. Pace was slow due to a 4-some two holes in front of us taking their time. After 9th hole it went at a better pace. Would definitely recommend a weekday over weekend day. Course is crowded on weekend. Beautiful Lake Travis views.

Hidden gem of a course. Worth the drive
Really like this course. First time playing this course and highly recommend.
First there are 3 temp greens on 5 6 & 7, bummer and they have a few patches on a few other greens but other than that the greens are consistent and challenging. Pace of play was perfect. There are some really fun elevation changes and great views and holes. Really beautiful course. The staff was excellent. I’m excited to bring some friends. Definitely worth the drive and I live in south Austin. I’ll be back but let’s get 5 - 7 back please.

Good course if you catch a hot deal
First time playing this track and I enjoyed it quite a bit. 3 greens are under construction and the rest of the greens weren’t in the greatest shape, but the course layout is really fair. It rewards great shots and offers some forgiveness for bad ones. It’s a short course, so I’d recommend dropping back a tee box from where you might play at longer courses. Over all it’s worth playing and you’ll enjoy it. Especially if you don’t have to pay full retail.

Fun to play
Fun place to play I drive 120miles to play there with my brother. Restaurant is closed if you never played there go play it you will have a great time.

Never again
Course overall was not in great shape. Greens were rough. There were actually several holes where the greens were being rebuilt so they had made makeshift greens in the fairway. Had this been known, we wouldn't have booked this course. Also, proshop and cafe closed so there was no way to get anything to drink. Overall I'd rate this course a 2 out of 10

Great Course!
I've been playing here regularly this year. It's a great course with friendly and helpful staff. I had been away for a couple of weeks.
I was surprised to find that the greens on holes 5, 6 & 7 are being re-done. They are gone actually - dug up. Temporary greens are in front of them. Calling them "greens" might be a bit of an overstatement.
The real kicker was that my GPS yardage and scoring app was off on the yardages and it didn't believe me when I entered my scores. :)
I will continue to play here.
