Lago Vista Golf Course

Friendly staff. Took the time to get my putter re-gripped.

Lots of elevation and creative shot making

Scored well on the front nine. Back nine is much more challenging.

Couple of rough spots on the greens.

I will play this course again

With elevation changes, blind tee-shots, and fall colors, this course was a beautiful round of golf. Deer everywhere. The value was excellent.

Greens were in terrible condition. Packaged snacks with limited. Service was sub par.

I plan to go back because the course is so different and fun. This course has amazing potential. I would certainly recommend going even with the poor green conditions.

Great little course. Views of Lake Travis are great. Staff was friendly and terrific. Course needs some maintenance but would not miss playing it

Greens was horrific but the views made it worth it

I have played this course dozens of times. Nice, not extremely challenging. Unlike the other Lago Vista course, this one has a driving range to loosen up. Practice facilities are no outstanding.. Nice grill/ bar area. Pro Shop just okay.

Pace was slow due to playing behind 2 fivesomes that were following a sixsome. Course was burned out in many places including some greens. That said,, staff was very friendly and course layout was scenic and fun to play.

Very pretty course with lots of wildlife.Some fairways are wide and some are narrow, good combination. The greens seem to always need better care.Overall it's a fun course. Worth the drive and cost.

Dead animals on the course, terrible greens, the entire course smelled bad.

Course with beautiful views and decent pace of play. The tee boxes were sandy and had some areas with heavy fire ants. The fairways were in decent shape although some areas pretty dry (it is later in summer). The greens were in bad shape, thick areas of grassy weeds, sand pits, bare areas, really just once you hit the green you know why you are paying a low price.

All in all alright course but personally I would rather spend the extra $20 to play a course in much better conditions.

Hence, you get what you pay for.

Course has a good layout, very scenic, competitive holes. Clubhouse staff very friendly. Play was a little slow. For the cost course was very good!

The City of Lago Vista owns this course . . . and obviously doesn't care about golfers. It is by far the worst course I have played in Central Texas and just about the worst course in the world.

Which is sad, because the layout is quite interesting and would be a challenge . . . if the course was not a broken down dog tract.

Many of the greens, if you can call them that, on the front nine had multiple holes in them, little or no grass, and were the worst greens I have ever seen. It was clear that they were not watering the front nine to the level necessary to maintain the greens, the tee boxes, and the fairways.

The front nine fairways were uneven in their condition, with many parts of the fairway covered with brown, dead grass on top of soil that was a hard as rocks. Many of the tee boxes were so hard that it was almost impossible to stick your tee into the ground.

What makes no sense is that the city of Lago Vista owns the golf course and the golf course is right next to the Lago Vista water treatment plant. So there should be zero problem with the city using its water to water its golf course. But they didn’t.

When Lago Vista owned Highland Lakes, they piped city water across town to water that course. So why not water the course that is right next to your plant?

The back nine was in much better shape, but still had serious issues.

I was embarrassed to have invited two friends to play Lago Vista for the first time.

Not all was bad. The people at the course are wonderful . . . and the Yamaha gas carts are in great shape.

But the golf course is a disaster. It should be should be shut down until they can bring it back to life.

For me, it doesn’t make a difference what they do. We will never, ever play that golf course again as long as I am alive.

A friend and I met here to play on Labor Day. I typically do not leave negative reviews, however the shape that this course is in warrants such a review. To be short about the course... to start, there is no starter on duty and the pro shop let a group of 6 locals tee off in between scheduled tee times of groups of 4. And that went just as you would suspect... slow. The whole course is in really rough shape. So, if this is your only choice then maybe, but otherwise find another course.
