Lago Vista Golf Course

Great course for the price! Brings challenges for all types of players. Wish it was closer to Marble falls tx, it would be my home course.

Let me start by saying that I've played this course numerous times and it is typically a very enjoyable round--which is why I don't mind making the 45 mins drive from Austin.

However, the last couple of times I've played we had to wait for the landscaper to mow the green... as we were waiting to hit our approach. This went on for the first 4-5 holes and in caused a noticeable backup.

As you can imagine, this was a bit frustrating.

My only ask would be to make sure that this is being taken care of earlier in the morning before the first group goes out.

Fairways are in wonderful condition, greens due to the rain definitely have a fungus issue. Are you in that wonderful course.

Typical hill country golf.... pace was was good. greens were in terrible condition.

The bad: The greens were in very bad shape and were not consistent. There were massive dead spots on every green (Do not hit one of those spots with a chip) Some of the greens were very slow while others were much faster.

The fairway grass was too long. Basically, every lie in the fairway was a flier lie meaning you couldn't spin the ball to stop it on the greens.

The good: The layout is good if a bit short. There are a lot of interesting holes and you will be called upon to hit a variety of shots. There are some truly magnificent views around the course.

Other stuff: I was encouraged to not walk the course, but I definitely could have. There are some holes (15) that will tax you if you walk, but it wouldn't have been too bad.

Overall, for only paying $20 it wasn't a terrible course, but I did find myself getting frustrated at hitting what I thought were good putts and watching them come up several feet short or blast past the hole because the greens were different speeds.

Most if not all the greens were in very poor shape. Dead grass, sand and dirt. I understand that they are determining whether to spend in excess of 1 mill to redo the greens.

The fairways, tee boxes etc were in excellent condition.

The layout and views of the countryside are beautiful.

The layout is good. Challenging at times but a lot of fun. However, the greens are terrible and the pace of that play is horrid. The 19th hole is nice with good food. Emotional roller coaster with you walking away saying meh!

Layout of the course was good and the scenery was very good..Tees and greens were full of fungus especially the greens...

Putting was the worst greens were black and and looked as if mud caked the surface it’s also as if they set it on fire to burn off the fungus...

Very rough greens with sand and fungus ruined the game playing ...

Will likely never come back and I play often with travels between Chicago and Austin area...

If you’re trying to improve your game or even keep score seriously for that matter, go somewhere else. The cheaper green fees (relatively) are tempting to jump at but the greens and tee boxes and many parts of the fairways are abismal.

Disappointing experience - will not be back this year.

Was told the greens were not in great shape. This was a major understatement. I was not told that the tee boxes and fairways were also very bad. Lots of work needs to be done. Early conditions? Maybe. But I can say if I had paid more than $25 I would've been very upset. Course layout not bad. It may have been good in the day but I can tell you that this was likely the worst conditions I've ever experienced on any golf course, period.

Have played this course many times and usually love it but unfortunately their greens are in very bad condition at this time. Hope they can get them under control this year.

Greens and Fairways are still rough. Needs a lot of attention

Fun course with a challenging layout, made even harder by bumpy and uneven greens made it very frustrating. The views are amazing and even stunning, but the hour drive from downtown isn’t helped when compared to course condition. If it was in better shape, I might play more often. Instead I’ll play at the local goat track

I really enjoy playing this course. They were busy on a Saturday morning but the course marshals are really good. Fairways in better shape. They still have a few rough greens but good experience.

The course isn't in terrible condition, but it isn't good either. The greens are beat up and battered one section was even closed off. The pace of play was bad, but its expected for the weekend. This is a great you get what you pay for situation, but the views on the course are stunning above the lake and on the hills. It is a challenging course for sure, but it is fun for sure other than putting on the greens. Not really an issue, but the gentleman who helped me today wasn't friendly at all and said "he'd never play on the weekends and good luck getting through 18". I didn't understand the comment because there are a lot of courses to play in the area and I can go to a different one if you don't want business I guess. Kinda weird if you ask me

The course was in okay shape but all the greens were terrible, most of them did not have grass on 30 to 40% of the greens.
