Lago Vista Golf Course

This course has potential but the greens need major improvements. The course layout is nice, the fairways are in reasonably good condition, some tee boxes need work but nothing like the putting surface on 5-6 greens. There were several greens which required moving your ball to avoid putting over mud or uneven dried dirt. It's a shame because the bare spots can ruin the golfing experience for some. I hope they can made the necessary improvements but I can't be very optimistic because I've read other reviews regarding the same issue that were made several years ago.

We love playing this course, very challenging. it was very hot , fairways nice but yellow due to lack of water, but there has not been much rain. the greens were terrible divits and chunks out all over, i counted two out of 18 greens that were in decent condition.

Fairways are in good shape. Greens are very poor. Lots of bare areas on many of the greens makes putting very inconsistent. The greens are starting to improve over the last time we played in January when they were all just sand. Miss the grill as they closed it down in December. Not worth paying full price but okay if you are getting a hot deal. Great views of the hill country and the lake.

I have played this course a few times, but this was BY FAR the worst shape I have ever seen it in. In fact, I don't think I have ever seen another course in as bad shape as this course. The greens were horrific.

Great golf course, I have played it many times over the years. The course is beautiful, and challenging. Views of Lake Travis and countless deer are just some of the perks.

I think this was the worst shape of any course I have ever played. There were no playable greens, None!

I’ve played here a lot over the years and like the layout. Played last Sunday and they had THE WORST GREENS EVER!!!!! Spend your money somewhere else. Bare patches, ruts, sand, very little grass.

Backstory: Played 1/2 an 18 hole round earlier and got a rain check.

Came back to use the rain check and asked to start on 10. Nope - told there might be groups catching me. Ha Ha Ha - there was 1 of me, no groups are going to catch me. Note that I already played 1-9 on my first half of the rain check.

Told that I should be paying for my wife to ride in the cart. Already did that on the round I paid for.

Went out to the course and though the fairways are pretty good the greens are unplayable. It's hard to believe that you dare to charge $30 for this, it's barely worth $10.

City of Lago Vista - you already screwed the community by closing one golf course - you said you would focus on LVGC. You have done that at all - it's a joke. Until you fix those greens my money is going elsewhere.

Note: I started on 1 and finished in 1hr 45min. Like I said, nobody is going to catch me.

I have played this course for over 30 years. The course is a 4 star layout with 1 star conditioning and off course facilities. Really a shame to see this place with so much potential be run down in its present condition.

Greens need maintenance tremendously. Fairways are great. Range could be better. Views are great.

All of the greens were in terrible condition. We probably will not go back. And for sure will not pay $30 for a round.

That was the worst I’ve seen that course . Greens were horrible. I think they are going out of business just like highland lakes

I've played this course eight to 10 times in the 20 years I've lived here. I used to really enjoy playing here, but It's been almost a year since the last time I played here. At that time they had just aerated the greens and the putting was bumpy, sandy, and ugly. Yesterday, without any signs of the aeration holes, the green on almost every hole was a carpet of sand so deep that it felt like putting in a bunker. Multiple humps, holes, bumps and other hazards adorned every green. The rest of the course was in good condition. They really need to spend the time and money to bring those greens up to the good condition they had 10 years ago when I last found the course enjoyable.
