Old Orange at Verandah

As the course was new to me I played no. 4 tee and didn't have great problems. The greens were in superb conditions and fair to put. Second nine of the course is not so exiting but still worth to come here.

I would like to have played the entire 18 but it rained after 6 holes - we got a 9 hole raincheck which unfortunatley we will not be able to use as we left the next morning and will not be back by December 31 to redeem.

What a wonderful experience. Great course with excellent fairways and true fast greens. Day started hitting balls on the very nice practice facilities and then off to play the course. Only negative thing was no coolers, although had ice and water available on the course. Played with three fine southern gentlemen who made the experience very enjoyable. Would definitely play it again.

Old orange is a classic golf course. I always like a course where you never see players from other holes . Nice practice facility and well spaced tee times

Played the Old Orange course. I knew as soon as I got to the practice facility, it was to be a great day. The practice green was running at 11.2 and the starter said the course greens would be faster....just the way I like them. Overall, the course was in great shape with beautiful true and fast greens. Highly recommended.

The Old Orange course was in great shape with excellent and fast greens. However, there were several instances where blind landing areas for tee shots had trouble such as water that was reached because we didn't know it was there. Also, some pin placements were very close to dropoffs which couldn't be seen from the fairway and what seemed like great shots that landed on the green ended up in a collection area 30 feet off the green.

Play was pretty slow the day we played...over 4.5 hours. We had to wait on about half of the holes.

Would like to play it again to see if having this knowledge would make it a little easier.

Greens, fairways, and bunkers were in excellent condition. Nice practice facility but quite a ways from the club. Nice variation on the holes. Nice fair landing areas off the tee. Beautiful setting.

Freindly staff. Good layout in above average condition. Good variety of holes. Course is very playable with challenging but fair greens. Good value. Would play again.

Play this course if you can, greens are great. Will use all the clubs in your bag.

Great layout complete with a challenge on nearly every hole, but no so much that you're ready to pitch the clubs in the drink after you're done.
The greens are consistent, and some had the hole on what resembles a golfing tightrope, with deep drop offs on both sides. Makes you a more careful pitcher and putter.
Wide, forgiving fairways on a lot of holes, so mishits aren't penalized too drastically.
Overall, a good day on a great course.

got a great deal, would return in a heartbeat to this course (played at the Old Orange, but would like to try Whispering Oak sometime in the future). Super friendly staff, well maintained, and just a very nice course in general at a great price.

I had played their Oaks course a few times prior so this was a nice opportunity to play their championship course.

This course was in good shape although they were obviously concerned about a few greens that looked like the high spots were burning a bit. The greens were posted at running at 11.3 which proved true on the front nine. We found that the back nine was running a bit slower. We played the Oaks eighteen which was a busy course. I would play this 18 again but would want to try the Orange course as well to compare the two.

Our group really enjoyed Old Orange. The fairways were great and the greens were fast but not to extreme. The Verandah Club really knows what they are doing. The staff was friendly and helpful. I can not wait to play there again.

The course is in excellent shape, the grounds crew and the super do a great job. Pace of play was exactly 4 hrs as advertised and my golf cart was extra fast. Only down side the greens were only a 10 on the stimp, they have been much faster there in the past. Great course, definately play it again.

Mature community with two courses ... played Old Orange and thoroughly enjoyed it ... and at a very reasonable price! Finding an available time(s) for this course on golfnow.com was challenging as it appears the course only offers very limited slots.
Recommended for those who enjoy a solid challenge, mature environment / setting and well maintained course. Will definitely come back to play it again.

Our favourite course is Old Orange! The interesting layout, and the fact that it is in great shape, have us return a few times every year. The abundant wild life is an added bonus. Fantastic afternoon.

This course is suitable for beginners as well as for golfers with one-digit handicap. He offers absolutely interesting holes, however, forgives also for mistake. The maintanence is very good. A little bit too expensive, but all together a very nice golf course.

Would probably not play this course because of green fees except for golf now. Very nice course.
