Nice layout and very challenging greens.

However

The GPS in our cart did not work.

No biggie but for $80.00 a round they should work

Staff was less than friendly.

Sat at our table for 10 minutes before I had to get up and ask the hostess if there were any servers working that afternoon.

Saw her then tell the server who had been talking to a table of 1 for the whole time.

After the hostess told the server she shrugged her shoulders as if to say “not another table”

Sorry for rambling, let’s just say we left and went to Brandt’s for much better service and EXCELLENT BURGERS!!!

Booked through GolfNow and got a better price via Hot Deal and Promo code. Course in good condition. Was not too crowded so pace of play was good.

Holes 17 & 18 have wasps in the bunkers. Outside of that, great course.

Driving range and the "bar" that's available outdoors takes cash only. That was a HUGE annoyance for me. I came about 45 minutes early, and didn't have cash on me. So, no food, no drinks (although they have bottled waters in coolers at the 1st tee as well as some others) and no way to go to the driving range beforehand. Again, very annoying.

The fairways are tight, and laid next to one another (as are many other places), but several times we were almost hit by balls from different tee boxes. One right off the first fairway from people who were teeing off at the 10th. It seems many of the golfers that come here aren't really that great - didn't hear anyone yelling "fore" or anything of the sort.

Greens - crazy hard. Rollouts for yards at a time if you ever hit higher than the pin in many cases. If you're a good golfer and want the extra challenge, this is definitely the place for you to practice. My round wasn't great, but more because getting used to these greens really takes coming here a few times and not just once or twice. I think I hit mostly greens in regulation, but the putts were 2 - 3 putts each hole. To play at a place like this would be beneficial, but not for the amount of money it costs to play here each time.

I would come here again for sure, but maybe after practicing putting at a more affordable place.

Course has potential, but in its current condition it’s just not fun. Greens are dried out making ball move unpredictably, fairways seem like they were brought in from Donbas region. Had twosome in front whose pace of play was less than desirable, one would assume that at least one ranger would be present on Sunday.

I played this course for the 1st time and I need to go back. The course is very challenging especially the green complexes and the opening 5 - 6 holes. Bring your A Game when you play here.

To start, let me say that I play this course several times a year and always find it to be a great test. The course is very challenging as most greens are raised so iron play is key. Most holes are fairly generous off the tees aside from a few holes. The issue I had were the greens were very bumpy as it seems most players do not fix pitch marks. The greens are pretty severe which I don’t mind but I want the putting surfaces to be pristine and that was not the case. Green side traps need more sand and tee boxes were chopped up. Will not go back for a couple months.

Was a windy day. Play was tough and a little slow for a week day. Greens were not of the quality typically experienced at Makray. Very bumpy and a bit slower than usual. Th weather held up though and I always enjoy the challenge and scenery at Makray.

Bring your A game. Challenging course from the Gold tees (6500 yds). Gail Winds made it more difficult. Stay below the hole on these fast greens.

Great layout and friendly staff! Greens were fast but not in great condition. Tee boxes need work and fairways tons of divots. GPS very old technology basically like not having one. We played for $60, but wouldn't pay anymore for it. If this golf course was taken care of, it would be AWESOME, but needs lots of love!

Makray is an awesome course, it has amazing facilities and staff members; I’ve golfed here 4 times in the past two seasons. I highly recommend trying it out.

I’m newer to the sport of golf, but one thing I will note is that if you’re booking a round and playing with other random golfers…. They will be either the nicest people you’ve ever met or some of the rudest / unsportsmanlike people you’ve ever played with. Ive never seen behavior like this anywhere else to this degree except at Makray.

I have played with a “club thrower” and others that like to argue with the starter because the starter won’t let their group tee off the second other players in their group show up after being late for their tee time. The starter was willing to accommodate and let them tee off about 35 minutes after the groups behind their original tee time had teed off, that way pace of play wouldn’t be affected.

Also, for reference, the club thrower I mentioned earlier, almost hit me with his club because he hit a poor shot. I was standing about 10 feet away from his bag and he wildly threw the club at his bag. I ended up being just fine, but very agitated that a 55 year old man decided to throw a tantrum and a golf club in my direction without thinking of someone else’s safety.

It's a shame that such a beautiful course be maintained so poorly. Some greens were in horrible conditions. Fairways mostly ok but greens very close to being unplayable. I don't mind paying $80 to walk or $100 w/cart for a nice course, this course should be no more than $40 walking or $55 w/cart at the current conditions. Hopefully they start doing a better job, I've seeing what bad management can do to a course (ie. Ruffled Feathers)
