Golfer Reviews
Great winter greens
The greens were in great shape and you can tell they really put the work in. The fairways were average but for the price you pay it's worth it. I will be back.
Winter greens are here!
The over-seeded greens have grown in, look good, and are now rolling better than ever. The 19th Hole opens at 11:00 a.m. daily and is well worth a post round visit.
Hidden Gem!
Was very surprised to see how well this course is doing! I’ve heard bad things about the course in the community here, but it’s actually in good shape. Enjoyed my round!
Better Every Round
Turkey Creek has improved from round to round for this golfer-- I salute the tireless efforts of the staff and volunteers to make for an enjoyable day at the course-- If only they could improve my game as quickly as they have the course itself-- As the title states, it's getting better every round !!
Best shape since reopening in Jan ‘21
The greens and tees were top-dressed and overseeded with winter rye on Nov 8/9. Fairways are dry and firming up. Pace of play is fantastic with tees times nicely spaced. While range balls aren’t new, they are the best value around at about 12/$1 and the range is well-maintained with a grass teeing area and short-game practice area. This is fast-becoming the go-to public course in the Gainesville/Alachua area
Glad To See You Open!
I have played the course three times in the last three weeks. Congratulations to all for the hard work and time you have put in to get this course up and running again. I know it will get nothing but better. THE COURSE IS NOT IN GARMIN'S MOST RECENT SOFTWARE UPDATE. That would be helpful, if you could reach out to Garmin. I'll be back!
Not my cup of tea.
I prefer walking to riding in a cart, but this course is one of the least friendly to walkers that I have encountered, so after walking it once I took to riding in a cart. On several of the holes, golfers get treated to a Parade of Homes, as it is necessary travel on more than a block of residential street between the green and the next tee. The last time I played this course, at the beginning of September, the greens were horrible, particularly on the back nine. There was a lot of sand but little grass, so we agreed to a two-putt local rule. This is my least favorite course in the area, and will go back only as a last resort. There is a dearth of golf courses in the Gainesville area, so I do truly hope that the conditions of the course can be improved.
Was it under the old name?
