Golfer Reviews
Put your driver away
very tight fairway need more work. Green in good shape. In time with a little more work will be a great place to play.
So glad it’s back!
This is a beautiful course that the community had come together to bring back to life after being closed for ten years. It really nice now and it just opened. I can’t wait to see what it looks like in summer.
Work In Progress
Played it for a great hot deal rate so I can’t be too harsh. Greens are coming along and should be solid by late spring. Lost a ball in the middle of the fairway due to leaves. Layout is great, fairways are narrow. Fun course to play.
Getting better every week
You can’t beat the layout in Gainesville. The greens are still coming in so putting is a real chore, but that’s overshadowed by the great terrain and curves of the course. This was my 4th weekend in a row playing there. Love it.
Conditions Improving
Have played here twice a week since it opened a month ago. Conditions improving each time I play. Greens are rolling true and getting better each week. 34 putts for my last round, I'll take it! Great course layout, and just need fairways to come in. Friendly and attentive staff.
ROUGH but promising
The greens are really really bad. Like bad enough to where you really shouldn’t even attempt putting on those things right now. Pretty crazy that they’re charging $30+ with the condition that the course is in right now. I don’t suggest playing out here until June/July at the earliest.
Shaping up nicely!
The course just opened back up last month and I'm already seeing vast improvements to the greens and fairways. Its always been a great layout so it will only get better from here! Very excited for the future of turkey creek!
Green...? Really??
the green is like fairway.
You have to smash the ball when you putt.
Otherwise, good course, but not very cost friendly.
You have to pay cash to get range balls.
Credit card is not allowed for the machine dispenser.
Glad it’s back
First, let me start by saying it’s tough to open a new course (or reopen after a decade) during a Florida winter. With that said, just after 3 weeks, the course is already responding well to the recent rains and warm weather. Friendly staff on hand. Great driving range and practice green and chipping green.
No beverage cart yet, since most of the staff are volunteers. Maybe they could lower their price a little bit and get more people to play, but it’ll only be a matter of time before this course is back to being pristine. Great layout and the greens were rolling nicely.
SORRY, I usually don't write bad reviews BUT
I heard from reading golf now reviews that they are spending a lot of money on fixing up this coarse but sorry to say I didn't see anything that resembles that. The greens were in the poorest shape I've ever played on, the fair ways I would say were not great but playable, the cart paths were all broken or non existent, the pace of play was great till ( as a single I came upon a 5 sum so I just passed on the # 7 hole ) and it was fine again but remember that there was nobody playing the coarse. I'am hoping that everything there improves cause I hate seeing golf courses fail.
Greens are ROUGH
Nice course with fairways pretty close to houses. The greens are very bumpy, to the point of ridiculous sometimes. Will play again at discounted prices ;)
It's open again, and it's going to be great
This used to be my favorite local course, and then it shut down for quite a long time. It's open again just a couple of weeks ago, and the new management company seems to be dialing it in. The layout of this course is fantastic, and driving through the neighborhood and winding around the creek and water features makes it enjoyable to cruise from hole to hole. The Greens were more or less unputtable, but I can excuse that due to the fact hat they just opened, and it's been COLD here in Florida. I was told they'll be rolling the greens in the next couple of weeks. Besides the greens though, this course has the best flow of any course in a 20 mile range, and I was so happy to play last week. In fact, I booked the next weekend too. There's no beer/alcohol sales before 11 on Sunday, and they do not have a cartperson yet, so you have bring your own or wait until 11 to roll up to the 19th Hole bar and grill. Do yourself a favor and head in there. It's the best bar setup of any Golf Course in the area.
Coming along great!
What an amazing job they have done getting this place back open. Love the layout and cannot wait till the fine tuning is over. For such a new course it is one of the best in the area. Only one incident of getting rushed a little bit by the ranger was my only critique. I think they were running low on carts. Hope they work through the growing pains as more time goes on. Definitely check out the course restaurant the 19th hole. The food is amazing and the beer ice cold with some of the friendliest servers ice ever had at a golf course.
