Great course for the money
Not complete, but it has loads of potential. Great course to practice on!
Tough course
This is a tight course with trees and homes surrounding every fairway. It is a challenging course to say the least.
Tough conditions
Told the golf courses in area took hit from hurricane and other storms. Despite being frustrated with the conditions, the locals say it’s the best public course in the area. The others are worse. Can’t wait for spring conditions in Wisconsin and our great GRASS !
Great Fun Course
I really enjoy this golf course. Great staff, great layout, lots of fun. I continue to return. Have to love the GPS golf carts.
Course needs a tremendous amount of work
Way overpriced for the shape the course was in. 4 greens were dirt and unplayable. Bunkers were gray dirt and mud. 15 of 18 fairways were bare hard dirt lies. Once on greens just pick up your ball and move on. Not worth the trouble. Pictures on website not true representation of the course.
Don't Play this cours
I will start with the positive points.
1. Nice staff
2. Ok carts
Do NOT play this course. It is embarrassing to have to play out of dirt from the middle of the fairway. Most greens are either half dirt and half a mix of thick grass. Some greens are completely dirt......yes dirt only.
Gainesville Should Do Better
The folks at Turkey Creek should be applauded for bringing their course back and making great improvements. Volunteers have now handed off day to day operations to a private management company that impresses me so far. The course needs lots more done if it is to be a five star facility. That being said, it is the only, fully public course in Alachua County, Fl that gets an A for effort. The Gainesville area, for some reason, does not have an outstanding course that is open to the public, in contrast to many of our fellow Florida communities. South and Southwest Florida, and many communities in Central Florida, including The Villages have excellent facilities. As an academic, sports and arts jewel in Florida, Gainesville falls short in what it has to offer golfers.
The course was horrible for the price
This is one of the worst course in Florida, the greens were the worst greens in the hist of golf. The entire green on each hole was like putting on mud/ no grass except in small patches on the greens and if you wasn’t careful you would slip on the greens. I will never play this course again. Played with my wife and two others from Gainesville/ the whole crew was very disappointed.
Turkey Creek
Beautiful course but the pace of play was atrocious. We had a 1:00 tee time and at 1:04 people are hitting into us. Then we are waiting 5 to 10 minutes to tee off because people in front of us are playing so slow and playing with little kids. Which I don’t mind I have a son myself but Saturday late afternoon is when I would take him hitting all over the place. Then golfers cut in front of us on the back slowing up the pace even more. Also, the ranger came by 3 to 4 times with no pace of play change or speed up by the golfers was just disappointed haven’t played here in years and I was excited to get out there again. I don’t know if I will be returning.
10th hole is deceiving
Very tight layout. Lots of homes around the course. Greens were mostly good. For Florida at this time of year.
10th hole layout is deceiving. Three of us drive our balls in the pond off the tee due to not seeing the direction of the fairway
Never play here
The worst golf course I’ve ever played by far. Not worth $5 and I paid $50. Stay away if you don't want to waste your time.
