Bridges Golf Course
About
Bridges Golf Course is a municipal, 18-hole course that sits on the northeastern side of Madison, just south of the airport. It’s popular with locals since it’s both affordable and challenging. The layout starts out on low-lying wetlands and then on the back nine it climbs up a ridge along Anderson Avenue. For a championship golf course it’s not particularly long at 6,900 yards from the back tees, but golfers will still face several tricky holes. Players of all skill levels will enjoy Bridges Golf Course for its variety of risk-reward opportunities. It’s not terribly punishing though so beginners can approach it with confidence. In addition to the golf course, Bridges offers a practice facility that includes a driving range and two separate practice greens for chipping and putting.

Spring shape
The course was in early spring shape I would call it. It was pretty wet and the cart path's need a lot of work, It felt like we were off roading it.
Decent golf
Very challenging and wet right now. Being extra balls
Nice course, had fun
Very nice greens…..locals need to do a better job of repairing ball marks ! Wish the restaurant was open…….manager apparently called in sick.
Golf Etiquette
It's absolutely amazing how many people do not understand simple golf etiquette. This particular course seems to have more issues than any other in the area. Singled are allowed to book tee times, and are often sent out behind threesomes or foursomes. I don't know how many times I have been denied (too often to mention) when I have politely asked if I could play through. The pro shop needs to remind the threesomes and foursomes that they should always allow singles to play through.
Been A While - Not Like It Used To Be
I'm glad this was a GolfNow "Hot Deal" as I wouldn't have wanted to pay full rate for this one ... and I don't have to go back. I guess it was a nice morning in October, my home course was punching greens and I played in 2 hours and 40 minutes and that coulda been faster but I pulled the reins a little.
I'll give the greens a thumbs up for being smooth and blemish free but they were pretty slow and fuzzy.
I'll give the fairways a thumbs sideways for being very spotty with a ton of dead patches. I will say though when you landed on grass ithe ball sat up on top. Too bad there was so many spots to deal with.
Bunkers and rough were a BIG thumbs down! We haven't had rain here in a good stretch but many of the bunkers were soaked from watering the surrounding areas and unkept. To the point that a couple I noticed actually had grass tufts growing in them. Not on purpose like in South Carolina or Florida but just grass growing in them from lack of maintenance. Many areas off the rough were marked as GUR and roped off.
Challenging course and great staff
The staff (specifically Tom) were awesome and friendly. They improved the overall experience and helped me a lot when I left something in the cart.
The course itself was under some repair but handled well with very clear communication and marking. It was very challenging with little margin for error. If you weren’t in the fairway you had a tough time finding the ball.
Nice Little Course
Showed up ~25 min early, no one ahead of me so I was able to go out solo. Layout is nice. Definitely a couple of holes that you have to think about your shot selection, and a couple that will punish mishits but can greatly reward a solid shot on an aggressive line (Hole 9 in particular).
Fairways are in rough shape still from the excessive June rains. Lots of fairways under repair in the lower areas (Hole 4 and 15 particularly). It's understandable though, will probably be better next year.
Course is in rough shape from excessive rain in June
Bridges is a tough course and it got hit hard with flooding this summer. Great staff. Noise from kids riding motorcycles in an empty lot were super annoying for the entire back 9.
Good value for the money
Interesting course in relatively good condition. Some ground under repair and it was obvious that the heavy rain was hard on the course but they are doing what they can to get it back to good shape. Greens are still great.
