Golfer Reviews
Too slow
Great course conditions. Had to wait on every hole for the group of hacks ahead of us. And we were walking!! Need better course management
Excellent Experience
Courteous and professional staff. Course is extremely well maintained with quality greens and manicured traps. A fair challenge to all golfers.
Well worth the effort to get there.
They could use a course book with hole descriptions and more yardages.
Fun Challenge
Course was in excellent shape. Fairways and greens could not have been any better. Course is very challenging, especially when wind picks up a little bit, but very fair. Only complaint is that given the nature of some of the tee shots, it would be helpful to have something besides just a scorecard given to you (could be something as simple as telling you how far water/bunkers/etc. are on each tee shot).
Overall, one of most fun tests in the DC/MD/VA area. I'll definitely be back again.
Always a Challenge
Blue Mash is always in great condition and this Memorial Day was no exception. The tee boxes, fairways, rough and greens were in great shape. The rough was cut, however, it was extremely thick and dense, so you could lose a ball easily. Most of the bunkers were in good shape, but they were working on the large bunker on #8 and had the entire bunker marked GUR. We did have a threesome in front of us with a walker, and they were very slow. The marshal kept following them and us around, which became a distraction. I know he was doing his job, but we weren't the problem! We kept the gap closed with the group in front of us, so I would have appreciated a little less monitoring. For the $84 price, I was surprised at the number of players (in my group--whom I didn't know--and other groups) who were errant and lacked some skill for this challenging tract. It seems I spent more time looking for others' errant shots than over my own ball! The course was in great condition--and I love the layout--but the people we were paired with just made for a long day...too many errant shots and searching for balls. The staff at Blue Mash is also very friendly and attentive...even the marshal was nice (although hung around too much). I highly recommend this course, but you might want to take your own foursome...you never know who you're going to be paired with!
Don’t come here.. shhh
This is a golfer’s club. Muscular, varied and windy. The greens are true but protect the course admirably. If you are a higher handicap, play forward or don’t bother..the course will chew you up. On the other hand, if you are a golfer, come play. You’ll have a great time.
Thanks for the great review, Stirmon. We hope to see you again soon!
Thanks - you had me worried there for a second!
Ok
Course overall was in good condition. I’m about an 11 handicap and played from the mixed blue and white tees. Pace of play was Terrible for the first 11 holes or so. Apparently there was no marshal out to regulate . Group in front of us called the pro shop and they promptly came out to try and pick up the pace. Last few holes played well as far as pace was concerned. In my opinion this is not an almost $80 a round course. Booked through golf now on a hot deal and paid $54 for my round which I was ok with.
Sorry about the pace, we were short staffed that day - our fault. We will schedule up for the late afternoon so that it doesn't happen again. Cheers.
I’ve been holding out on Blue Mash for a while, which I totally regret. Staff was great, course was even better. The only course I’ve heard of that waits until June to aerate so golfers can enjoy their greens throughout the spring. Will be back!
Thanks so much, we look forward to serving you again!
RELAXING RETREAT
I found this course using "Golf Now", and I was extremely satisfied with my round. The cost vs. quality was definitely in good balance. I enjoyed the track, and the amenities as well. In all, I'd love to play here again. Given the area, and the weather, this course was in great shape. Challenging for any level, and a lot of fun! I will definitely be back.
Thanks - we are so glad you enjoyed your round!
Great track!
Wide open fairways and nice course conditions made for a great day! Will be back.
Thanks - glad you enjoyed it!
Great condition this time of year
Great layout, great condition, great day!
