Blue Mash Golf Course

Not sure why no started or ranger, if more players had been there pace would have been issue.

This course was a pleasant surprise and I will definitely be headed back very soon. The layout has a lot of risk/reward, which I love. The course conditions were pristine. Greens rolled quick and true, fairways rolled. Overall 10/10 for me.

Wonderful conditions and difficult test. Pace of play too slow 4.5 hours and had to wait on lots of approach shots. Groups too bunched up.

Challenging well-groomed course. The course is overpriced at normal rates. I only play this course if there is a HOT DEAL mark down. Most of the fairways are side by side and over play/ people hitting in to your fairway is a constant problem and has happened every time I have played this course. Furthermore, I had 2 of my balls (with my initials on it) hit by another group out of my fairway/ rough. This is not the courses/facilities fault, but is very frustrating poor sportsmanship. The Clubhouse comfortable and well stocked with a great outside covered dinning/ sitting area. Food was great bartender Katlyin was always smiling and attentive on a bust afternoon. All the staff at this course were helpful and friendly great service. Overall I will come back once the HOT DEAL presents it self.

If you like links courses but don't want to travel all the way to a coastline, you can get a little taste at Blue Mash. Except for a few holes on the back part of the property it plays very much like an open links layout, with just enough terrain to keep things interesting. Water is only in play on a few holes, but it looms large on those few, so you'll have to play some precision shots. It has maybe one too many sharp doglegs for my liking, but they add some different challenges.

The course is impeccably maintained, fairways are perfect and greens roll nicely. The staff are very friendly, although my buddy said the restaurant staff at the turn weren't too responsive. It's normally a bit pricy but you can find some cut rates on GolfNow if you're willing to play at an off time. All in all a very enjoyable and challenging course, even from the shorter tees.

Everything was great, only reason I gave 4 stars on pace of play was because we (me and my buddy - a twosome) got caught behind 4 groups of 4, did get to play 3 balls, so that's maybe a plus. And the only reason I gave 4 stars on course quality was because the greens had just been aerated within the last few days or so, still not a big deal.

Fantastic course

Started earlier than our tee time. We were able to keep a quick pace of play finished in about 3.5 hours.

The course has some wide open fairways and a few that are more challenging. They are all very well kept.

The service is outstanding. Due to MD's laws they couldn't serve my beer before 10. I ordered before leaving and promptly at 10 there was a cart at my hole delivering the beer.

Blue Mash remains one of the better options for golf in the Washington DC Metro area and is fairly convenient to Baltimore area golfers as well. The first three holes are as tough of a start as any track in the area.

Course was in decent shape the day I played; while the fairways were not green that's down to the time of year more than anything (it's usually well maintained).

The back nine has water come into play for several holes and a wide variety of holes.

Although carts are included it's not a bad walk; holes are close together and there aren't any big elevation changes (we did see a couple groups walking).

Greens were rolling pretty true (they had not punched/aerated their greens yet), and while the range was open the green grass area wasn't yet (due to the time of year/cold snap we had in March- it was covered). They had mats in use. There's a practice green and a short game green as well.

Pace of play the day I played was outstanding (may be the weather kept people away).

Beautiful warm winter day. Course was difficult but good shots are rewarded. Good deal of water in play. Played in under 4 1/2 hours on a Sunday which was amazing.

we paid the price of the temperature outside!30 degrees !but had a fantastic time, definitely challenging course link definitely tries again in the warmer months .we finish playing in the snow.

Each hole has a different character that challenges you to your fullest, at the same time this course is forgiving in its own way.

We were second off. First group let us thru on second hole. We played in 2 hrs and 55 minutes. Living in Montgomery County for 43 years I've found conditions are always above average. Everyone at the course was more than welcoming

Layout is weird??? Lots of blind shots to areas you would never think they would make you hit towards. Marshall told us NO riding in rough Rough in perfect condition( Only positive) and irrigated, so little chance of damage (and very few players). Greens slow, untrue and pock marked Two regulars (one a MEMBER) said the course was in the BEST shape it had been in in years!!!! They even said it is WAY OVERPRICED! Will never come back!
