Marshall? What Marshall....
Course layout is beautiful, exceptional quality every time at Old Kinderhook. The problem that I had this round was the gosh-awful pace of play. And it pains to write this review because I truly love Old Kinderhook.
Played as a single, caught up to group ahead of me on hole 5. On hole 6 tee, one of the guys comes up and says, and I quote, “I’d let you play through, but we are playing with the group ahead of us. Sorry.” I assumed the Marshall would see and say something later on; the waiting was every shot on every hole through 9 green.
Group ahead of me didn’t go straight to 10 tee, so I played through and their “friends” let me play right through on 11 tee.
Thennnn the big delay happened on 15 tee: An 8-some. That’s not an exaggeration as you can see by my attached picture of 16 green. The 8-some didn’t play fast at all, not a single quick thing about this group. Took me over an hour to play 15-18.
Course Marshall? What Course Marshall.....
Awesome place to chase a ball!
This was a great course will friendly and helpful staff. I've never played a course better kept than this one!
slooooooooow Play
So sad that a great golf course gets ruined because the round takes 5 1/2 hours to play.
Staff wasn't able to keep pace of play going but they sure could give us trouble because we joined up two threesomes to play a few holes together .AND WAITED STLL ON EVERY TEE BOX
50th Bday Golf
I live in AZ, I play great courses all the time. My brother lives in KS, so for my 50th I wanted to Play OKH. Played it once before and loved it. It was wet then and it was wet again this time. It wasn't raining either time and had not rained. My brother said its wet every time he plays it. Very disappointing for a course which is incredible.
Great Track
Great golf course! Wonderful layout. My girlfriend and I went out during the COVID-19 situation and played in 2:45 min. Wonderful experience!
Beautiful Course
Beautiful course, Always seems crowded but pace of play good. Great hot deals during off season. Tees for every level.
the course was in pretty good condition after melting snow a couple days earlier. A little soggy in some areas. I think getting a 70 degree day the first week of February helped make it an even better day. The course was well cared for. The sand traps were all in playable shape and the grounds were all clear of fallen leaves. If there is a chance it would be nice to mow the greens. The better weather is helping them to grow.Overall a very pleasant day on the links.
Great afternoon
The course was in great shape for it being January. Greens were well maintained. Pace of play was quick.
The course was enjoyable to play.
The rolling terrain made each hole very interesting and challenging. The zoysia fairways were excellent and like hitting off of carpet. We had a great time.
Great course
Played the day after huge rain storm hit the area. 100 percent cart path only which was totally understandable. A tourney had been played on the course that morning but everything was still in great shape. Bunkers were under repair due to the rain storm but most were still playable. Staff was great
Old Kinderhook
Absolutely one of the best courses in the region. Challenging and fun. I would highly recommend that anyone looking to play golf in the Lake of the Ozarks area make a stop at this beautiful course.
Wonderful Views and Conditions
This course is fair, challenging, in great shape, scenic and fun. It has everything you want in a golf experience and all at a fair price. The staff were friendly and helpful. The course was fairly busy for a Thursday afternoon but we weren’t waiting on most shots. Greens are tricky and take a bit to get used to but this has been my favorite course at the lake to date. Will definitely be going back!
Lacking attention
I have played this course since the first month it opened probably 2 to 3 times per year. I have seen 3 owners come and go and a lot of changes of structures and property. However; this is golf course in it's poorest condition I have experienced in 25 years ….. weeds everywhere, tee boxes were bad shape, traps are really bad and ponds are a mess. I know we have had record rainfall this year, but this is not good. Sorry, but until things change, our trips will not include Old Kinderhook.
Practice Round
Course was in great shape. Greens were fairly quick but pin placements were fair. For a very hot day it was a very enjoyable round.
One of the best experiences
We were a little concerned about getting through 18 in time to pick up our dogs from doggie daycare. The pro shop got us out as soon as they could and we had a fantastic day that ended with time to spare. Course was in tremendous shape, Pace was incredible. Stag was very helpful and pleasant.
