Old Corkscrew Golf Club

I play this course every year when I’m down here and it never gets any easier. Very challenging course but a must play if you’re in the area, unlike any course around.

If you get a chance to visit southwest Florida - Naples/Ft Myers area, put this course on your must play list. I'm a Florida native and everything about this course reminds me of the way Florida was when I grew up here 63 years ago. Tall pines, palmettos and ponds throughout without any homes or condos built on or around the course makes this an authentic Florida experience. Jack threw in a number of challenges but honestly, this is a course much like Pebble Beach - who cares what you shoot; enjoy the day and this beautiful setting. Of course you want your partner to buy lunch but you really won't care about that score as much as you remember the incredible views and course layout...well done Jack and those who now maintain it!

A great experience from the moment you arrive at the bag drop until you leave. Reception at bag drop is efficient and friendly. Pro shop staff greet you with genuine professional style. The practice area is top notch and every starter I’ve met have been engaging and accommodating. I’ve played here for seven years and can honestly say the experience is better then what I see at my club back home. The conditions a are second to none. The course layout and condition will give you all the test you’ll need. It tests every aspect of your game and will expose any weakness. Do everyone a favor and play the tees appropriate to your skill. Be prepared to be humbled!!

This course never fails to deliver an experience worthy of your time. Just remember this “Tony Jacklin is the only person, Jack ever “gave” a putt to”!

Carved through Pines: what looks like a flat piece of land, laid out for an Orange grove; has been transformed by “The Jack Nicklaus”, into an innocuous encounter with victory or terror at every mis-hit.

But, what else would you want? Never too much trouble for the careful golfer, but disaster for the adventurous mis-hit.

The greens are quick and sweeping, but very fair. Come up short and Jack isn’t impressed. Most greens have been designed to revoke a short shot.

Oh great: a short par 4. Remember: Jack built it.

Worth every $$ you spend.

Clubhouse is minute, but welcoming, as are the staff. After 1pm: Worth asking if the back nine is clearer. Might be quicker to play it 10-18 1-9?

Played the Nicholas designed course for the first time. Having played many courses in the Naples Ft Meyers area I have to say that Old Corkscrew is one of the most challenging. If you are used to playing a forgiving course then you will be either pleasantly surprised or frustrated. All I can say is that I am looking forward to returning and give the course another try.

Great golf course.....a second shot course and you need your putter to be hot to score. Every hole is different and presents different challenges, Also we saw 7 gators so there are more hazards lurking in the ponds. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Well done Old Corkscrew!

Very challenging and beautiful course in the wilderness of Florida. Pace of play was perfect (4 hour round) and the course was in outstanding condition. Fun and exciting challenges different on every hole

Great courseThe course was in great shape greens were very fast but fair the only criticism I have would be some of the tea boxes weren’t in the best shape but other than that it was a beauty

This was my second time to this course and I wasn't disappointed again. Staff is excellent, course was in great shape and pace was reasonable (3:45). Greens were fairly fast and rolled pretty true. Quite a few challenging holes while some holes allowed for semi-errant tee shots. Overall one of the more challenging courses in the area. Doesn't run through a housing development either so that is great...conversely, this course takes a little bit of a drive to get there...about 13 miles east of 41 off of Alico. Worth the trip!

Old Corkscrew might just offer the best layout of any course I've played State-side. There are clubs with better amenities, but as far as the actual game of golf, the course offers a 18 holes of pure joy; requiring you to maximize every club in your bag. The holes are naturally embedded in the landscape, no 'golf houses' lining the fairways, just pure golf joy. And while the course is a challenge, it's never unfair - good shots will be rewarded, bad shots not so much. It is a wonderful departure for the 'normal' Florida course; here you always feel part of nature, not part of a manicured experience.

You play Old Corkscrew because you want to play golf, not because you want to posh around. Highly recommended!

A perfect golf day with a lot of Rain but the course was in perfect conditions

The only bad thing was that the clubhouse is closed at 4 pm
